A new computer program has determined that it would take only eleven nuclear missiles to change the Great White North from a frozen, uninhabited land with little human population into a frozen, uninhabited land with little human population and three-headed rabbits.

Ok, so the article REALLY says that it would only take eleven nukes to eliminate Canda as a country.

My question is, why'd they model Canada in the first place? I don't think we've waved a musket at them since the War of 1812. Talk about holding a grudge...

I'm still thinking about it.

Is there anything we get from Canada that we actually want and can't get elsewhere?

Two for the US: Washington DC and New York. It would cripple our government and our financial center.

There are moose in Canadia...and probably cheeses, too.

My suggestion is to sell or not buy the nukes in the first place...and just buy the place.

Anyway, beside saying dumb things, what has Canadia actually done lately? I know they make and ship beer, bacon and maple surple...but done? You jest.

Only 11 nuclear bombs to 'take out' Canada

I'd be more interested in knowing how many to do the number on Mexico. ;-)

Hey folks, be careful now. You might get us mad. Last time we fought we burned down your President's house.

If you start up on us again we might be forced to fire up our tank. ;-)

Please do not nuke Canada, it’s a perfectly nice place. I do think however that we should offer to trade them for the western provinces and the Northwest Territories. We could give them New England, and a state to be named later!

The answer is very obvious. First, require that all owners of nuclear weapons register them with the Canadian police. Then confiscate as many as you can. Anyone who still wants to own a nuclear weapon must get a license, and safely store it under lock and key with the triggers removed. When only the authorities have nuclear weapons, then all Canadians will be safe.

I thought Canada was a northern suburb of the USA. Wouldn't this then be like NYC taking out Long Island?

Waste eleven expensive missles on Canada? Besides, if we wiped out all two thousand something people and their moose, where would we get players for American hockey teams?

Only 11? Cool. But I only advocate a first strike if we enter another ice age.

Ahem...pssst.....about 50% of Canadian companies are owned by Americans...so you'd be kind of, ah, shooting yourself in the foot so to speak. Pass it on before you all get too excited. You wouldn't want to put the missus out of work, would you? Just a tip ;-)

with a country with an entire population of what? 20 Million if that, why would anyone think it would take more that that? I am shocked the number wasn't single digits.

Of course, at the current exchange rate, it would actually only take 8.5 US Nuclear Weapons.
