Bob Stoops is headed to Florida. That according to a report from a Florida TV station minutes ago. Mike stoops and others on the staff can tell you that they did not know of this decision until moments ago. More later.

My heart goes out to Sooner fans. You folks have a great football program and this will be a tough vacancy to fill. For what it's worth, your program has more history and tradition than Florida, from this perspective. Yes, there was some bad years, but your program has regained its' stature and credibility. Good luck in the future.

Thanks for your comments! It is looking better that Stoops is going to stay at OU since the FL AD is on his way to Denver. Our local airport probably hasn't had that many calls in a long time to confirm the FL plane's pilot filed a flight plan for Denver!

Actually if you read all my comments over the last few days I said originally Bob Stoops would not take the job and since then have been reporting what I hear from the press here in Norman. All of our press were saying that there would be a Stoops as our head coach next fall which was an easy bet. Note that all my comments were from press reports that were subject to anyone hearing them. I reported what I heard. Mike Stoops was in line to be our next head coach if Bob left! That was a fact! Only source I reported from other than the press was from team members that my son knows and then they knew just about as much as us.

Bob Stoops is meeting with David Boren right now and there should be an announcement soon!

Now concerning Spurrier, my source says Tampa Bay!

We are definitely on the same side! And I am really with you on promising to stay five years -- am sick and tired of going through this crap year after year! The press has been all over the place on this one but I will say that our Oklahoma press has won this one hands down. Barry Switzer said it best last night -- the FL press is writing fiction!

BTW, I am a Mom who just happens to love football and have for as long as I can remember and the Sooners are right at the top of my list! I just want an new offense for next fall with a new quarterback. When you can sit in the stands, see all these open receivers, and your quarterback overthrows by ten yards, you know there has to be something done!

BOOMER SOONER!

Adam Schefter, a Denver sportswriter with good sources in the Broncos organization has been reporting that the job is Mike Shanahan's if he wants it.

The plus side would be a less demanding work schedule and year round golf. The minus side would be a pay cut (Shanny makes $4 mil per year) and selling the 13,000 square foot mansion he just built.

But he wouldn't have to worry about the salary cap anymore.

Fun and Gun vs 3 yards and a cloud of dust + Defense. There will be a question if they miss any strides or not. We'll see how it works out (hopefully in disaster).

What exactly did Florida "do" to OU? They didn't FORCE Stoops to leave. Don't blame them if Stoops wanted to leave barren, windy, treeless, desolate and cold OK for Florida.

Spurrier is giving his goodbyes now. He is a class act and a good guy. Anyone who has a chance to listen to him will see this...

I think Florida under Spurrier could give any pro team out there a hard time, if not beat the majority of them...

Nonsense. College kids just aren't big enough. Florida got its butt kicked by Nebraska a few years back, when the Huskers were feeding their kids corn laced with steriods. Florida had one of the best offences ever seen in college ball, but they simply got mowed down.

It is official -- Stoops just told his coaches that he is staying at Oklahoma! The Sooner Nation can now take a collectively deep sigh of relief! Everyone has been saying he was staying after the FL AD flew on to Colorado but now everyone is reporting the coaches have been told they are staying in Norman!

More news: Roy Williams is looking into buying one of those Lords of London insurance policies so that he can come back next season and play for the Sooners and still be protected in case of injury! Now if that turns out to be true, this is truly a great day for the Sooner Nation!
