It is hard to stay behind Benny(and others like him) but I know where you are coming from. Either God still works the way he did 2000 years ago, or he doesn't. I don't see any indication in His letters to us that He intends to stop working that way.
Are we supposed to mock Benny and anyone who supports him? No way. Are we supposed to abandon the healing part of Jesus' sacrifice and only embrace the forgiveness part? No way. I hope Benny et al. are walking us thru the clumsy and awkward baby steps of the restoration of Gods power & gifts to the church.

If one worries that they'll get some sickness, then that's what will happen.Wonder what I did wrong...I have a chronic disease but I didn't ask for it.
To: Rockyrich
I think you just see what you want to see...Anyone can claim that they are healing in the name of Jesus...fakes do that all the time...its part of their act...at least that is how I see it...you obviously dont...we differ on perceptions...
And please, if indeed Benny Hinn was a 'true' healer, no one would have need of regular doctors...the people Jesus healed, were completely healed...I dont recall the Bible telling of them running off to a doctor for a confirmation....
And as far as my saying I dont judge Benny, I dont...he will be judged later, by his creator....I dont judge him, I just dont believe him or anything he says...and as for venom dripping from my every sentence, that is your perception and you are entitled to it...and I am entitled to my perception...as I see it, you are willing to believe in Benny Hinn, and I am not...so be it...that has nothing to do with my belief in God, and in Jesus and in the Bible...Benny just shows me that people will use whatever means they can to get money...you obviously dont agree with that...so we disagree...
And if there is any venom dripping from my sentences, its because I have seen people duped by charlatans such as Benny Hinn...and that is what I consider him, a charlatan....and that belief I have does not at all shake my belief that there are good Christians everywhere, who earnestly try to help others, without the trick of gaining money from that help...I just dont believe that Benny Hinn is one of those good Christians....that is not a judgement, as far as I am concerned, that is just seeing the man for what he is...

Thanks for the facts. I'll listen more closely. If what you say is true, then I would expect his ministry to collapse sometime soon.

He was in that movie "My Cousin Binny."

of course you realize.. that much of the new testament was written AFTER the book of Revelation right? look it up in any commentary or concordance... Looks like they put revelation at the end when they assembled the canon of the new testament, to scare folks off.
I for one like to hear the false prophets rave on. One prophetic failure... and from that point on... we know who they did NOT hear from... that being God. God makes fools out of them, and their followers who refuse to admit... the alleged "prophet" wasn't one after all.
Of course we have a whole new crowd who then say that new testament prophets in the church don't have the same accuracy requirments as the ones in the old testament... then we have the same group selectively ram their "favorite" commandments down our throats at threat of eternal damation... cheifly being mandatory attendance at their meetings, and sacrifial money in their offering plates... all this happens while prophet "liar-am-I" d'jour gets up and tells a few more "whoppers" in the name of the Lord. Blasphemy. No wonder folks don't believe in God... His kids are addicted to lying and liars...
Anybody with brains knows miss cleo is more accurate than these phoney baloney religious houdini wannabes and their worshippers.
Where were the lying prophets and God's alleged spokesmen on the morning of 9-11? Were they standing at the building entrance denying access because "god told them what was to come today?" Nope... but they sure as hell showed up to blame us for our immorality and pass the plate while begging for forgiveness in a time of national tragedy.
hoaksters... and flim flam cons... they are NOT prophets, when their words fall to the ground unfulfilled... even once. Phonies...
quack quack....
I wish God did take out some of the trouble makers in the middle east... but I suspect He will leave the heavy lifting to mankind. Seems like He leaves us the responsibility of removing our own Hitlers from the planet... "take out your own garbage" seems to be his policy.

I don't think I'm brainwashed and I think OJ is a murderer. Today, many theological schools will teach that God does not heal and that homosexuality is OK. Which side of the fence do you fall?
To: LearnsFromMistakes; rockyrich
God's power and gifts never left the Church. And His Church is called to discern truth from error. That's not judging - it's biblical. The Church is to warn people about the false teachings and practices of the cults, which claim compatibility with Christianity and yet deny cardinal Christian doctrine. Our standard is truth and our judge is Scripture.

This one (Rocky) is incapable of hearing or understanding. His discourse is all over the map and he's unable to answer a direct question, instead choosing to change the subject. He is confused and apparently not well grounded in the Word of God.
I think I've reached the shaking dust off sandals stage....

no no no...Benny HiNN not Benny HiLL!! ;-)
My friend and I always play that game...we pretend we misheard the word/phrase/sentence and then we correct the other. Sorry for the digression...just thought it was funny! ;)
To: Central Scrutiniser
I wouldn't give him any money if I had any doubts. But based on the discussion here I'll take a closer look. Thanks for the insights.
To: Rockyrich
It is true....no doubt. If you are interested in the audio files and quotes...send a private reply and I will send them to you and you can hear and read for yourself.

Kundalini - now THERE'S an interesting comparative study - kundalini vs these so-called manifestations of the Holy Spirit. I looked into that a while back, very informative. I'm also very familiar with Hinn. Some of his crusade/healing shows got downright creepy about 2 years or so ago, with him growling and barking orders, saying things like "I curse the children of anyone who comes against this ministry." That's real biblical.
