I think you've covered it all. Just let the offended ones try to sue you!

You can insult Rudolph, Santa Claus, White Christmas, and Jingle Bells all you want, but when you mess with Silent Night you have CROSSED THE LINE.
You also can do whatever you want with the one you said you liked - The Messiah. We have a double-CD set, and there is a total of 4 minutes worth listening to in it. Call me uncultured, but I'd rather just read about the Christmas story than have it sung to me for 2 hours.

Instead we could get together with people we care about and have a huge meal. That would be it. That was Thanksgiving. You can't do the same exact thing just one month later.
The author is full of complaints and practical advice but seems as if he could use a little spiritual advice. However, he does leave himself an escape hatch from that accusation so I assume he was just trying to be funny and brash.

I didn't write it, Fred Reed did. We all have our own likes and dislikes, however. I personally avow to apply leaches to the next reveller I catch playing "Jinglebell Rock".

A great grinch post to round out the festivus season.
Tonight I have 10 for a seated dinner so I have rolls to make. Read you all later today...or in the new year.

Could not have expressed my feelings on this any better. I really like the idea of dumping the presents, except for maybe kids under 11, and inviting friends and relatives for a meal and conversation.
...spoiled middle-class kids, almost bored, mechanically opening present after present. Yeppers, couldn't agree more.
