Right on, there's all kinds of stories out there about people buying guns and getting CCW permits in record numbers. I hope Sarah Brady is having a nervous breakdown.
I took my formerly anti-gun cousin out shooting and he loved it! We shot my .357 magnum revolver and my dad's .30-06 rifle. People fear what they don't understand. After 9/11, he had some second thoughts about owning guns. My dad and I took him shooting and he had a blast (pardon the pun). The way things are going, he's going to go buy his own handgun real soon. Any advice?

The greatest boon to the anti-gun forces, besides Ted Kennedy's 1965 immigration bill, was elimination of the draft. People lack familiarization with guns, they're uncomfortable, they don't like them and they vote against them. If the draft comes back, all this will change.

The way things are going, he's going to go buy his own handgun real soon. Any advice? Take him to a range that rents guns and try out as many as he's willing. Stick to .38 Special and above for revolvers and .380 ACP and up for semi-autos. Personally I like 9mm and .45 ACP because I can get inexpensive milsurp ammo.
Best to stick to major manufacturers in my opinion. For the auto-loaders that would be Sig Sauer, Glock, H&K, Ruger, Walther, CZ, and possibly Taurus. In revolovers, I'd go with Ruger and Taurus, or a USED Smith & Wesson. Not giving them any "new" business until they undo the sellout deal they made with the Clinton administration.

Since you mentioned Sarah Brady, I thought you might find it of interest that she is suffering from end-stage lung cancer and still smoking. I wish her well with her health problems since my issues with her are political and not personal but it is worth noting that, evem in the face of cancer, she won't quit smoking. It seems her ability to handle evidence and information and to make rational decisions in light of that evidence and information is sadly lacking on many fronts.
In all seriousness, I wish her well in the area of her health. I'm sure many here can make the same distinction.
