Chris Janseng just announced on MSNBC that according to Ari Fleischer, the Evil One's videotape may be released to the American public today. No more details as of yet.
In other words, they paid their money, took their chances and got lucky on this one.
Nice way to run an international anti-terrorist effort and coalition.
I think you were right the first time, if the tape is as described it only shows that he knew about the plan beforehand.
Not only did he KNOW about it, he ENJOYED IT. That's sick.
Anything with bin Laden's name on it? Anything that has been able to be directly tied to bin Laden?
If so, I haven't heard about it.
The glee of those at the top over this tape showing bin Laden's knowledge of the events plainly shows their relief at being able (at long last) to eliminate "any remaining doubt" (to quote Paul Harvey just now) about bin Laden being involved.
Apparently, the administration believes that until this tape is released, there is some remaining doubt.
They are politicians, they want to take our money and run our lives. Therefore I want to see the evidence.
All these hijackers have ties to the Al Qaeda network of terrorists.
Believe what you want to believe, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not gonna argue with you.
So just let it end there, ok?
Sorry, I don't make attempts to prove a negative. I keep hearing about all this so-called proof that exists, but nobody is allowed to show what it is. So what it boils down to is that I'm being asked to take it on faith that the administration has the proof.
After eight years of Clinton, I'm a little reluctant to believe any administration's request that I should plain "trust us, we know what we're doing, we'll never lie to you, we're Republicans". If the administration says they've got proof, then I say great, let's see it.
If the administration really had the proof, this new tape would be no big deal at all.
Signals would mean nothing more than simple planning ahead would, if synchronization is denied. Perhaps it could be run at random staggered dates on various local TV outlets, rather than air on the same night on the network news.
On the other hand, if Ashcroft has enough wiretaps going, maybe airing the video on all stations at once and watching for a response in telephone and internet traffic would flush out the location of some more terrorists.
