I can't remember even turning on my TV this past week. FR is my window on the world. If you get your news from TV, it's fed to you by others. They do the filtering. It's also highly repetitive, and you don't get what's of partcular interest to you, when you want it. When you get your news from Free Republic, you're in control. You pick and choose whatever you want to focus on, from a vast "buffet" of articles and opinion posts.
Thanks for all the good stuff you do, Jim. I particularly appreciate your stand against racist posts. That's something that will stand well the test of time; however the public's understanding of things changes over the years, you will definitely never be ashamed that you stood against racism.

It is Sue Ann.
Where else do you have such disparate set of ideologies clashing with such fairness...........nowhere..........
To: Sueann
You will find Christians clashing with Libertarians clashing with Democrats clashing with Buchananites clashing with............
..........you get the idea...........I've never been to a forum which has espoused a more tolerant attitude (God, I hate the word 'tolerant')...............as this one has.
You will find every viewpoint on display here, and usually they will be battling like nothing you have ever seen.................;).........................but hey.................
..........it's "Free Republic"

These introspective vanities are occurring almost daily. Is there something we should know or are you just providing background information for newbies?
From a users standpoint things never looked better.

You do know that we've voted you Time Magazine's "Man of the Year", don't you? Don't let that go to your head though.

My company had acquired a small ISP service in 1995, and I was learning how it operates and saw its potential. Jim, One thing everyone on FR uses, is an ISP. It seems like a high percentage would sign up with a FR ISP if it was available for a competitive price.
This would be a good way to raise money on an ongoing monthly basis too.
An idea for what it's worth.

Bless you Jim..
To me FR is like extended family...feuds and all :>)
We love our Nation, and the constitution that governs it..We love the freedom and responsibility that our Democratic Republic give us
I come here to read news I would never hear anywhere....and to read irreverent replies that make me LOL sitting here all alone..
It is a place to play nicely with others....like the current ping post..It is a place to argue political and spiritual positions ...the essense of our freedoms..
I pray Gods blessings on you and yours this holiday season
Long live Free Republic!

This is a portion of your bio I've always windered about. Thanks.
One Day you will be featured on cable as a "Biography Channel" feature show I promise you.
The equivalent of the Basebal Hall of Fame.
I , on the otherhand , will be fodder for firemen to drink coffee and curse during daily shift change.
You either have it or you don't.

Hi Ma............;)

I believe he's having some sort of legal battle now. There was a post a couple of days ago about the million dollar judgement over copyrighted material. And squashing of defense arguments.

I live in Massachusetts. Free Republic is like being in the French resistance and being able to hear "London Calling" on the BBC.

....and to read irreverent replies that make me LOL sitting here all alone......there is nothing like a Freeper tearing into some liberal news article that elicits such a joyous feeling in myself.............

Hey kid...you be careful on that horse ya hear:>)..but of course..........don't really want to be thrown fron this one...........;)

I've lurked on the DU a few times. Danang, now I feel dirty. There's some pretty severe souls here on FR, but it seems like a non-stop thing on that forum. If you disagree with them, then you must be some Freeper scum, etc., and much worse. They do know about Freepers, heh, heh. Go LSU

...high percentage would sign up with a FR ISP ...Yes! And offer DSL too.
Thanks Jim for all you do!

Needless to say, I love FR. Sorry about the DU reference. There is NO comparison.
