Well, living in Newport Beach, I can assure you that while one can spend $10 million for a home, $5 million will buy you one very beautiful and large home with a spectacular view. It would be a custom built home, as new homes in the most recently built tract developments sell in the $800k to $1.5 million range, and they are typically 3,000 to 4,500 sq. ft. houses.

The Crouches have lived in Newport Beach for some time now, as I have seen him driving around town from time to time, and once I found him in the liquor isle of the Gelson's Supermarket picking out a wine selection.

People may not be aware, but the Crouches and the Bakers used to work together quite a few years ago. They had a falling out and went separate ways, after which the Bakers built their South Carolina resort.

The TBN "facility", for lack of a better word, is in nearby Costa Mesa. It is a garish white building in Greek/Roman style, visible from the 405 freeway. Any locals you ask will speak of the facility with derision. It is covered with while light bulbs which burn every night. One Christmas they installed a large Happy Birthday Jesus sign on the top of the building. They never took it down. Guess they celebrate Christmas 365 days a year.

Sorry if I sound nasty, but it bugs me to see these people always soliciting money and living the lifestyle they lead. I encourage every one to live well, but not off the contributions of others.

Sounds like they had a little help from Clark Griswald.

Jesus would have approved of that, provided he bought good stuff, so he wouldn't have to show up and again turn water into wine.
