My mother was not amused with the furniture part.
Neither was mine, but I watched the Mary Martin TV version...THAT'S how old I am (and you could even see the strings). I just didn't understand weightlessness or trajectory. Or how to fix a lamp without Mom finding out.
I spent a lot of time in my room, not so voluntarily. And what did I do when I was in there? Reading. I would have loved Harry Potter when I was a kid.
Did he say something about Ken Starr?
Apparently, neither does Mr. Chick.
If the devil is discussing good vs evil and saying that good wins out, sure, good wins out, but then it is the devil doing the talking after all. So when you consider the speaker, you have to wonder, hmmmm, well what IS good? Good for the devil is bad for you. Who cares if HP is some sort of morality play. Submerged in all the witchcraft, I am not sure the form doesn't alter the substance, and even then that presupposes the substance you imagine it to be is there.
If it is all just harmless fun, and a quaint morality play, what is with all of the witchcraft? Is witchcraft good? Is this the best setting to have children learn about good vs evil? Can a setting of witchcraft be a reliable setting? Doesn't a witchcraft setting by default distort the message? Why not have a story about a kid who gets involved in witchcraft, only to fall under some sort of demonic curse, later to be rescued by some good friends who go to church on Sunday?
That is good vs evil. HP is Evil 1.0 juxtaposed to Evil 2.0, and when we compare the former to the latter, we are supposed to find out which level of evil is better, and the difference is what gets called good, lol.
I gotta hand it to the satanist Rowling, she sold 200 million books, has a movie, the works. But then "what shall it profit someone if they should gain the whole world, and yet lose their own soul?" "And the devil took Jesus up to a high place, and showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, and said 'All these will I give to you if you will bow down and worship me.'"
Nothing new about the devil 'rewarding' one of his ambassadors.
I'm going to go and take a shower now.
There is no Jack Chick®. Jack Chick® is the Betty Crocker® of the tract industry.
witch, witchcraft, sorcery, divination, and see what you get. The "Witch of Endor" story is pretty interesting.
Harry Potter is the kid from the first Troll movie who's sister gets taken over by the troll and kills Sonny Bono, among others.
But I think everyone gets saved by Timmy and Will Robinson's mom, who happens to be a witch with a talking mushroom, by the end.
I think Harry Potter is also the dad in that movie, no doubt a reference to Egyptian occultism, where Horus is his own dad married to his own mother.
Its all on the back of the dollar bill, folks. I couldn't make this stuff up if I wanted to.
I would say more, but it might be a breach of National Security, but its all encoded in that metal strip they put in the money these days anyway. Anyone with a magnetic stripe reader should be able to decode it.

Apparently, the "alleged Adults" in our culture are UNABLE to teach our children the difference between real-life experience & "Technologically-Enhanced Fantasy!"
"spoosman" apparently believes that our children don't (or Can't) know the meaning of "Let's Pretend!"
How Sad!
"Harry Potter" is a "FAIRY TALE!" Children of past generations ALWAYS understood the nature of a "FAIRY TAIL!!"
"Harry Potter" is a Pretty Good "Fairy Tale" which does what ALL "Fairy Tales" do----It demonstrates the value of "Good vs. Evil!"
"Harry Potter" learns that there IS a value in being "Good!"--that is the "point" of the movie!
"Spooseman,"--in an inverse fashion, you're trying to make a "Sow's Ear" out of a "Silk Purse!"
Many are oblivious to the dangers of seemingly "innocent" occultic activities. I liken the fascination with sorcery to the old saying "Curiosity killed the cat". It isn't all innocent as it appears.
The example you cite proves the anti-Potter perspective instead of the other way around. The old fairy tales that portray witches and their craft as evil bolsters the Potter critics. Most of the classic fairy tales involve people who suffer as victims of spells and witchcraft. The villains tend to be the ones casting the spell. The heroes try to overcome the debilitating effects of such evil mischeif. I am a Christian and have no desire to follow the herd to the Potter bookrack or film showings. I respect your right to do so, if that is your desire. I know not everyone agrees with me, but for me, the Scriptures hold more sway than the latest popular culture fad:
Deut.18:9 ¶ When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
Gal.5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Rev.21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
I wholeheartedly agree. I've always thought Chick tracts to be very informative and Biblically accurate. I'm sure that many thousands have made decisions to turn their lives to Christ through powerful messages presented in these tracts. I can't understand all the Jack Chick bashing here.
