"I could really like Texas if it wasn't for the weather. It's too hot and sticky for me."

I went thru Texas on a Greyhound bus and IMO the state was hot, dry and boring. The rest stop was a bus stop in the middle of nowhere. Vending machines only, sheesh, if only they stopped in a Tex-Mex cafe.

I remember coming up over a rise on the way to Panther Junction -- I think the view was the most beautiful I've seen in the United States.

BTW, it was September, and cold as a witch's...

someone told me it was warm in the Big Bend country that time of year...I had a tarp, a blanket, and a spare pair of socks. I have got to remember that "warm" to the rest of the country means something different than it does in southwest Florida.
