You got a private letter from somebody named NYpeanut because she is getting sick and tired of a pattern developing here that is dividing conservative men and women. And then you run and tattle to mommy and daddy by posting this whiney vanity; not cool. The very next thing in the replies to this thread will be a bunch of cementheads posting "Repeal the 19th amendment" followed by 86 exclamation points.

Then I will have to post my link to Venn diagrams and deductive logic and point out your lack of education on this area, then six guys will call me a feminazi, then some women will jump to my defense, and then we all hate each other instead of the real enemy.

This is not productive, and if the predicted cementheads promise to drop this right now, I won't go into my stale routine either. Let's concentrate on uniting against the dark side.

The FACTS are there, WOMEN Vote More Liberal. MEN Vote More Conservative.

If you don't like the Facts, then help change them.

Men

Women

Well NYPeanut, I've been here much longer than you, and frankly I'm sick and tired of the self-serving sanctimonius CRAP that gets posted such as this.

You didn't have to out yourself. The original poster expressed very well what I've been thinking for sometime.

You and your post aren't helping matters.

Come to think of it, most of the CRAP posted here on FR comes from a certain crowd of people who registered on FR starting in October of 2000 through January 2001.

Every time I've had to hit the abuse button, the poster has met that profile.

Oh for the good old days of FR.

I get a letter from someone named NYpeanut who is mad because I posted a discussion based on the Gender Gap in voting.

This is not nice, FF578: you fail to tell us in your post with what specifically NYpeanut disagreed and thereby make it sound as though she attacked you for merely discussing the issue. That is, you want us to join ranks with you merely on the basis of hearsay.

Moreover, if your post is indeed focused on the issue, what good does it do to reveal the name of the person who sent you a private correspondence? None whatsoever. Unless, of course your real reason was for doing so is to "out" him or her, or make us flame that person. Rather indiscrete and unbecoming behavior for someone calling himself a concerned conservative --- or anyone else.

In contrast, NYpeanut's response #24 is very measured and constructive. If this is her usual style of correspondence, your credibility, FF578, is undermined even further: your attack on her is not only unjustified --- it is unprovoked.

FF578, I have no doubt in the purity of your heart and your aspirations in serving G-d and the country. The purity of our motives is not an excuse, however, for the lack of civility in discourse. Not only is this not right --- to use NYpeanut's words ---This is not productive... Let's concentrate on uniting against the dark side."

Well said indeed.

Reflexisively recoiling from the horror of being named a cementhead, I'd like to say you don't have to be a feminazi to retain your right to vote. However, there was definitely an arousal gap in Clinton/Gore voting statistics and the topic of why female voters have consistently voted for the Democratic party the past few national elections is a valid subject for discussion here. The facts are that female voters are responsible for 8 years of Clinton/Gore.

That being said, it doesn't follow that the 19th amendment should be repealed. What does follow is that Republicans need to thoroughly analyze the factors behind this gender gap and successfully address it within party platforms going forward.

Gee, that's a really sporting comment.

FYI: The easiest way to tell a liberal from a conservative is by her bad manners.

Chill out.

With one exception that I think was missing the /sarcasm tag, you were the first person to truly fly off the handle. I guess it's a girl thing.

I'd be fascinated to see what you can come up with in the way of Venn diagrams (which at least 70% of the time are pure cr*p) that somehow proves there is not a gender gap.

Of course there is a gender gap. Men and women are different. Every single study that starts out trying to prove differently either flounders on the rocks and shoals of reality or ends up getting trounced for falsifying data. By and large men are more violent and separational (things are good or bad, black or white, not shades of gray) whereas women are more nurturing and bonding. Men are basically stronger, women have bodies better adapted for long life. Women are designed to live long miserable lives and men short violent ones. Yes, there are exceptions. But those descriptions work on a statistical level for the population "Male Human" and the population "Female Human."

Given these differences (and every one of them is backed up by a relatively unbiased and peer reviewed study), it's no wonder that women and men, by and large, cannot decide on what the "right" candidate is.

To men this is an argument to repeal the 19th Amendment. Since you're obviously wrong. (separational, remember) To women it's a reason to make us sleep on the couch.

Chill.
