What makes you think it was humorous in intent? I didn't see any smiley faces so it's impossible to identify humor in them. This is the context they were posted in. You have said it was humorous. They didn't.

Okay, sakic, I'm tired of fighting about it. This just isn't that big to me. I can see why it would make a liberal mad. I do believe in "Do unto others...". I can go that far with you. I still hold that it was said in a completely non-serious manner but I am more in a position, given my political bent, to give them the benefit of the doubt than you are. I'm just asking that you consider the context and place that it was posted.
