The flood of 1981? Yeah... I remember. We were camping at one of the lakes around Austin and had to bail out of there around 10 o'clock that night. Very scary.
My wife and I have had a lot more respect for moving water since then.
The irony for me is that my wife and I talked about leaving Manhattan for Austin after all the crap we've been through because of the WTC massacre.
I forgot to tell her about hundred year flood plains and Memorial Day 1981.
Really love the city. When we retire it'll be the Hill Country or south India.
