Technically, it is in San Pedro

I know that S.P. is the nearest incorporated city to the port other than L.A., but I thought I remembered from maps that the city of LA has a strip of land that runs all the way down from the main portion of the city, just to include the port itself within the city limits.

Actually San Pedro is not an incorporated city. It's part of L.A., as for example, Brooklyn is part of N.Y. However, there is a drive among our residents here to separate from L.A., since the port provides much of L.A.'s revenues while getting a disproportionately small share of benefits. I think it would be a mistake though, because a separate San Pedro would vote heavily Democratic and REALLY make a mess of things for us.
