I still remember that day in 1995 when they announced they were changing the name of the stick. Sad day. Fortunately, most announcers still call it candlestick instead of its new moniker, commercialstick park.

You don't have to be a Snakes fan to find Joe Buck's and Tim McCarver's announcing awful. We hear McCarver on regular-season Yankees broadcasts, and he's just as condescending and stupid. The worst thing about him is how he makes all these great pronouncements of what Torre should do, and when Torre proves him wrong, he never acknowledges it. Case in point -- Timmy was whining in the 9th inning that after Paul O'Neill got his hit, Torre should put in a pinch runner. No need for a pinch runner when Tino hit a home run, was there? Then McCarver whined about how the Yankees didn't have much of a bullpen for extra innings after Mariano. Well, they only needed Mariano for one inning last night, since Jeter went yard.

I hate to tell you , but the fix is in...The Yankees will win because of the WTC...It wouldn't be PC if they didn't...Sir Percy Hot Spurs...

And how do you explain the Yankees winning FOUR out of the previous FIVE World Series -- was the fix in there too? And why didn't the other teams throw their September games against the Mets, so that they could win, too?

P.S. Posting those pics I admit was dirty, but we underdogs have to fight dirty sometimes to win. LOL!

Yes, but I believe the Geneva conference did limit how dirty you can fight! This is clearly a violation! LOL..

One more thing about this columnist saying there was a pro-Yankee bias by FOX: if that were the case, then why didn't we get to see Whitey Ford, Phil Rizzuto, and Yogi Berra before the game (I think they threw out the first pitch, but FOX didn't show it).

I think it was Shaunessey in today's Globe who wrote that " 'Kim' is Korean for 'Schiraldi'."

Pokey78 on this board said that "Kim" was Korean for "Mark Wohlers"!

I am a Met fan and although I am still in my heart rooting for the Diamondbacks I would like to see the Yankees win. We need our spirits lifted in NY after all the heart ache. I don't know if people around the country realize that here in the surrounding area of NYC we have to open our papers every day for the last 7 weeks and read about our friends and neighbors who have perished. It is quite depressing.

Okay...do the math.

We are currently in a War in the Middle East trying to pound the Hell out of terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center in New York City.

We have a World series that involves one team from the desert and the other from New York City.

Uhhh...hello.

:o)

What has Curt said about it?

Privately, I can only imagine what Schilling has said. You pitch a guy on three days' rest, he pitches better than anyone could hope, and you lift him after 88 pitches? The only move I've seen that's worse was putting Kim back in last night after he threw 62 pitches in Game 4.

The Yankees not splitting the first two games will be their undoing this time, IMO

Yep--and they didn't split because that wuss Clements won't pitch in an NL park. How do they not start their best pitcher in game one? Or even game two? All their excuses are pure BS ("he's hurt...he's not been that sharp lately")...I'm sure Schilling would've buzzed one by his head just for Mikey's sake. I hope he pitches on Sunday against RJ if they get to seven.

I seriously doubt that the Yankees will beat Johnson or Schilling in AZ. I also doubt that Bremly will take J or S out unless they're getting roughed up.

This has been a great WS, primarily because these teams have never faced each other before.

The Yankees have been awfully lucky at Yankee Stadium...reality will hit Saturday night (I hope)
