You know, blam, I could have sworn it was not even a month ago I had someone on this forum assure me that this type of thing wasn't possible. That the Taliban had these caves they were going to hide in and be safe from us, that our aircraft would be ineffective, that the Russians had not beat the Taliban, and neither could we.

I said that was nonsense. I said that We own the night, not the Taliban or the Afghans. I said that we would be sending in sweeps, successfully on search and destroy missions, that it would be Vietnam all over, with us playing the NVA. Again I was assured that I was full of it.

Guess World War I is over, and no one told either the Taliban or that list member.

The tone was mocking and brutal as the signals cut into local frequencies with jamming equipment. The words were aimed at the Taliban fighters below, huddled over radio sets.

This is my favorite part. I want to start hearing about them doing things like breaking into Taliban communication via walkie-talkie:

kind of interesting contrast to Gulf War - then local bullies were taught to respect US power; now anyone who thinks of being or supporting anti-US terrorists are being taught to fear us - to learn the true meaning of 'terror'. I think we should make this a long, drawn out war - long enough that the 'terror' we can dish out gives people like them everywhere nightmares if they even think of plotting some act against us.

Those caves aren't going to be very fun places to hide once we start pumping in blister gas. Not banned by Geneva, and gas masks do nothing. Oh, you'd want to have one, so you won't start spewing mucous all over the cave, but the effect on the epidermis is, um, unpleasant, and clothing just makes it worse. Or, if they're feeling generous, they can just blast infrasound down the shaft, causing all the residents to either A) vomit and defecate uncontrollably, or B) have their organs explode. I doubt we'll have to venture too deeply into the caves.

One thing that is not being mentioned by anyone is the fact that they can't say one word over a wire or an instrument of any kind without being heard. Some of this activity is just to get those phone lines lighted up, chart the location then, boom! The only safe way they have to communicate is by courier. They're in deep poo poo.

Yes, men. I'm happy to see that as hard as the clintoons tried, they did not manage to rid our society of real men. This admin. is not going to allow women on the front lines, which is another good sign.
Women do get prominent places in the admin. when they can serve equally well (Condi Rice, for example), but Bush isn't so silly as to think that women can do these Special Forces jobs - or that we can do without the Special Forces.
These guys do risk their lives to protect us, but not nearly as much as they would if they had to take women along.

Nice road show, huh? They are likely trying to figure out how to hit us here again. I expect they're having problems communicating though. These guys that are being allow into the US are all probably carrying instructions to the various cells. I do expect something else here. Be careful and watchful.

I dunno... I wouldn't trust anything they fed us without independent (Ranger) confirmation, but I could see them wanting to apply some of their stringent population control to the Islamic Fundamentalist population in general. After all, if Pakistan goes Taliban, and India makes clear once-and-for-all who owns the subcontinent, China suddenly doesn't look so regionally dominant anymore. Not to mention they'd love a closer look at our hardware in action. "Military Exchanges," and a disabled spyplane, even a Clinton, can only provide so much.
