Grumblings beginning to be heard in France on US

No, it will be 'we will end the war that W cannot.' It will be just what Nixon used against Mcgovern, which was that. Then he turned around and intensified it and dragged it out for four more years and still got re-elected after going to carpet bombing and invading another country.

Well, let's see... back in the real world, Nixon had already been president 4 years when he defeated McGovern in 1972. America's participation in the war ended the following year. But even if you were thinking of Nixon's first election in 1968, it is ludicrous to think that Nixon won because voters thought he would end the war more quickly than Humphrey. And of course Nixon was re-elected by a landslide over a 'peace' candidate four years later.

I note in passing that some people are embarrassed when their claims are shown to be factually and politically garbled to the point of incoherence. We call these people "conservatives".
