Sr. Lucy Receives New Message
Diocese Report ^

Posted on 10/07/2001 4:41:26 PM PDT by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.” Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

Sir, you should pray before posting such tripe. You should also try reading some Church Fathers before embarassing yourself and putting your fathomless ignorance on display for all to see.

Benedicat te omnipotens Deus.

I'm Catholic, but the problem with this stuff is you can't tell truth from fiction on the net.

If true, you would think the Holy Sea would suggest these directed prayers at this time. The did NOT! Therefore, this is most likely a urban legend type deal here.

I'm not counting on it! Someone has apparently started printing "Maria Monk" again.

people worship statues, proclaiming the 'Virgin Mary' as equal to christ etc. etc.

Hmmm...I've been Catholic a long time, never once worshipped a statue or heard Mary proclaimed "equal to Christ."

Could you please find some CATHOLIC documents that tell us to worship statues or make Mary equal to Christ, so I can read them for myself?

One caveat...they need to be from Catholic Church sources, not from some anti-Catholic bigot's web site who says this is what Catholics believe.

If you can find these things, I really would like to read them. Of course, please don't say that "praying to Mary" equals "making Mary equal to Christ." That is your ignorance, not our belief. We know better than that.

Thanks a lot. Now I'm going to have to go dig up some Vince Guaraldi Trio.

Great Luther quotes. I had heard about his devotion to the Virgin, but hadn't seen actual quotes. Excellent.

Will we have to wait a few months for Cardinal Ratzinger to prepare a commentary and omit any references to future "blood baths" so the message can be referred back to May 13, 1981 exclusively? What was that earlier Fatima description of a white-robed bishop walking among dead bodies? Was Fr. Judge of NYC (RIP 9/11/01) maybe one of them?

Didn't the previous "clarification" from the Vatican limit the meaning of the prophetic Fatima messages to Sr. Lucy to the past? If the current rumor is true, how are they gonna handle this one?

He also added the Litany of Loreto the invocation: Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us.

And those words are written in gold on the arch that separates nave and choir in the Basilica at Fatima.

"Regina sacradissimi rosarii fatimae, ora pro nobis."

By the way, this all took place around the year 1900.

Actually, in 1884. The Prayer was published on 25 September 1888:

SANCTE Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio, contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae coelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum detrude. Amen.

Your post 145 ... Mary needed a Saviour because, as a human, she was under the sentence of Original Sin. ... tells me that you are no expert in Roman Catholic dogma.

Try looking up "Immaculate Conception" in the dictionary.

Thanks for posting the correct date! Satan has had his hundred years and then some. It is clearly evident in the "goings on" of Cardinals and Bishops.

One consolation, we know that Mary's Immaculate Heart will win out. Pray the Rosary.

You did not read the entire post, and what you did read, you apparently did not understand. All human flesh is under the sentence of Original Sin. The Dogma of Immaculate Conception is that the Virgin was preserved from the stain of Original Sin from the moment of her conception by a prospective application of the merits of the Redemption. That is a distinct issue. To say, as you suggest, that the Virgin was not under the sentence of Original Sin would be the equivalent of saying that she did not need to be redeemed. The Church does not so teach.

Now, was it Pope -- no pun intended -- who said, "a little learning is a dangerous thing"? In any case, whoever it was, please take heed.

In "The Great Heresies" Belloc also points out that Vienna was saved from Mohammadanism on Sept. 11th 15??.

Interesting we attack on Oct. 7th

Keep saying that rosary.

I recall Belloc's categorization of Mohammedanism as a 'great heresy,' but I did NOT recall his prediction of another uprising. No surprise, however; been talked about in Catholic and Jewish circles since the mother of all wars, anyway...
