i'm not sure where the anomosity is coming from My opinion of Rudy, is just that, as yours is yours. What i didn't agree with in your post was your analogy of NYer's coming together possibly in a negative manner. If you were able to vote for him in the upcoming election, would you have the same "knee-jerk reaction" because you think he's done a fine job during this disaster???? And I'm not sure I understand your points about his personal life. I have no problem with him being an advisor. I have a problem with him being mayor after his term is up as he wanted to do initially.

Actually Sharpton didn't compare Rudy to BOZO.
He simply said that NY "would have come together if Bozo was the mayor."
In essense he was denying Rudy any credit for bringing NY together...which along with his other comments like Rudy not being the "Messiah" show Sharpton's jealousy at the praise and attention Rudy's gotten since the attacks on NY.

Let's face it, Sharpton is REALLY ticked that ANYTHING has brought New Yorkers together..because his career depends on dividing one group against another.

If you want to write something and you think people aren't going to like it, and then you tell them they shouldn't read it if they don't like it, AND THEN you think they're not going to read it and respond to it, then you are sorely mistaken.

As for Rudy, and what you think his motives are about staying on, I think you're way off base. HE was there to bring the people of NY together, HE is on TV everyday to give press conferences on the situation, HE has attended the funerals of many people, HE is STILL the mayor of NYC. Like it or not, he's made people feel comfortable.
