Anti-war protesters, armed with permits to assemble tomorrow at Lafayette Park, have changed their plans because the U. S. Secret Service has barred demonstrations near the White House over the next 30 days.

Secret Service agents said any protest activity in Lafayette Park, for decades a popular demonstration spot across the street from the White House, is restricted.

NEWS FLASH!

There are 10,000,000 land mines in Afghainstan.

In an unrelated story, plans have been made for the US Military to assist peace demonstrators in their anti-war efforts by flying them to the Pakistani border at no charge and allowing them to march from the Pakistani border all the way to Kabul so that they can meet with Taliban officials to express their undying and unifying love for peace above all other virtues.

In a gesture of support, the US Military will follow closely behind the protesters and pick up any litter and other organic material that they may happen leave behind.

They have no clue ... and we're going to have to put up with their drivel for a long time ... sigh.

"And Helen Armstrong of Coventry said she doesn't want to see the nation's flag taken over by the "militarists." "That flag is also my flag," she said. "It's the flag of pacifists and people who speak out. It is patriotic to be a pacifist."

The peace activists are not alone in this country - and they are even less so abroad. In Japan, activists have protested their government's plans to provide support for the expected military action. A group of professors and academics in Norway has told Bush that a show of restraint would make him worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize.

And it's that message that people who share Armstrong's views hope to spread in the coming weeks, as the nation appears to move closer to military action.

We're a movement of people who have more criticisms than answers," Sheehan said. "That's not satisfying to people. That's not satisfying to me either. But you can't have long-term problems and expect short-term solutions."

McNish, general secretary of the American Friends Service Committee, said the attacks were not acts of war, but crimes against humanity. Military action is not the answer, she said."

Right.

We shall send a bobby to the Hindu Kush with a warrant.

Got it- although this is not new news. The change of meeting place was announced on their web page two days ago (if not longer).

They still plan on merely starting where they are starting; they intend to circle the White House.

Thanks

I'm sorry, Ma'am. It's NOT the flag of those who don't care if this country survives or dies.

"McNish, general secretary of the American Friends Service Committee,"

Say what you want but if this is part of the "Society of Friends", i.e. "Quakers", I respect them. Even though they would have us taken over by a flat bellied paddie-wagon full of jihad heads in a mere twenty minutes, they speak through their lives. They never waver in their commitment to pacifism and they have that right. Unfortunately it is up to the rest of us to protect them.

I expect these "pacifists" to have a militant and violent protest with lots of property damage. Just watch.

Carthage was a permanent solution to a long term problem. And it didn’t take very long either.

Yeah, those Marines who died after putting up the flag on Iwo Jima sure looked like pacifists. It's garbage like this that needs to be taken out and deposited on the curb...say in Canada perhaps.

They created a dessert and called it peace

They crucified the leaders then they put evry male over age 3 to the sword. The women were sold into slavery.

Then they sowed the land with salt.

not pretty but very effective.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown

The demonstrators, led by the International Action Center (IAC) — an anti-war/anti-globalization advocacy group

Not. IAC is a communist front organization. Always has been. And I suppose always will be.
