This morning on Fox News, they ended a segment with a clip of Neil Young, in his old cowboy hat, singing IMAGINE. This was at last nite's show in Hollywood to presumably benefit the families of the victims of the act of war in New York.

I truly despise the No Heaven song...such a LIE.
And if Hollywood/weird is hijacking the money for their own causes...that is worse than skumbag low.

Tom Petty, like most of these @ssholes, smokes dope, writes lame tunes and gives the finger to all that America stands for, while raking in millions. Screw these people and their phony compassion/patriotism.

Brotherhood. Brothers cannot exist without first having a FATHER . The same FATHER they deny in the first part of the song.

I said this on another post, but here goes. My husband and I turned it on but he didn't want to listen. So we turned the sound down and watched while we talked and ate dinner. Just looking at the stage, with everyone dressed entirely in black, long-faced and dour looking, hundreds of white candles burning in the back, releasing clouds of smoke into the air -- at one point there were a lot of black-robed people standing around and it hit me! This looks like a satanic mass or something. A witches' coven.
It's too bad it wasn't more uplifting. I don't know what I expected. We also did not recognize most of the singers. The least they could have done for us old fogies (in our 50s) was identify the performers at the bottom of the screen, like they do with political leaders. I had no clue who a lot of the people were.
Don't know how much money they raised. Hope it was a lot. But it seems to me they could have raised a lot more just going door to door in Beverly Hills and asking for donations from the wealthiest people in the country -- entertainers. I hope every person on that show last night had also made a sizable donation.
Again, didn't watch (or listen to) hardly any of it, so these are just potshots from somebody who has a lot of disgust with Hollywood. They are (legitimately, IMO) despised and feared by devout Muslims around the world becuase they are glamorizing sexual promiscuity and violence in movie after movie. The sleaze-producers in Hollywood have been arrogantly promoting their garbage values throughout the world, and I for one despise Hollywood values.

I know you wasn't trying to make excuses. Sorry if it seemed I was inferring that.

Because I was on overload.

Did Tom Petty refuse you an autograph or something?? Hmmmmm.

You really have a problem don't you?. What difference does it make what songs were sung and by whom?. All the money raised goes to benefit the victims. Get a life.

Screw the devout Muslims. Let em leave the country if they don't like it.

"There was a report here on that- seems the mooney in the event Rivers was solicited to jin is to go towards PC 'understanding of minority issues and tolerances, and anti-racism efforts" And there has also been reports here that the leaders of Saudi Arabia are fleeing their country, Bush is going to nuke Afghanistan, Bin Laden is hiding in Canada, and other things. I've provided a link to foxnews.com saying the money is going to "raise money for victims of the World Trade Center disaster". Now why don't you provide a reputable link that I am wrong, and the money is going just for liberal causes.
I am confident the distribution of the money raised will be monitored and questioned. Many, many reputations will be ruined if they don't do as they said they would do.

The Joan Rivers report is in the page 6 gossip section of the New York Post. I know you guys are going to make fun of me, but I have no idea how to "post". I enjoy reading your posted article, but I don't know how to post. Maybe someone could tell me how or post it for me.

Had the terrorists struck the Oscars, Emmy or any others large assembly of hollywood and recording stars, there might be less outrage.

You idiot.

I hate that song too and that's when they pretty much lost me.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing that pisses me off. Accident, tragedy....it was a murderous attack! Then Julia Roberts talks about everyone being nice, after her vicious mouthings about "W".

Yeah, the guy that penned this garbage was shot in the back.

Neil Young: Pathetic guitarist, crummy singer, and otherwise braindead. Imagine that.
