Leave. Bye. Take your stupid “institutional knowledge” with you. It is not needed.

They employees who worked have since been paid.

the deal that was passed paid everyone.

That, although usual, is also bullstuff. No work --> no pay. In the real world, anyway.

Following a previous “shutdown”, a friend who worked for one of the more scientific-oriented agencies commented that during the shutdown, he didn’t go to the lab and work. Doing so would have been illegal. HOWEVER: his first day back after the shutdown was the most productive of his entire career: he got three weeks’ work done in a single day! (read between the lines)

‘The mission is dead’: Federal workers say the [avoidable, elite Democratic] shutdown made an ‘extremely trying year’ worse

Jan 31, they will be furloughed again, as the democrats will go full nuclear during the regular election season. Expect the next shutdown to last months longer, perhaps all the way to election time.

I feel the same way but I can feel some of their pain.

I do NOT work for the government, but my job recently laid off 3/4 of the work force. As a lead, I was notified that all leads would be taking a pay cut and losing their lead pay.

Fair enough, but instead, they cut my pay by $6.00 an hour and pushed me below starting pay. WTF??? They did this on my 64th birthday. Hard to just go out and get a new job, so I am stuck here as literally the lowest paid person in the company.

Now my only goal is to make it to April. If they let me go then, I can draw 6 months of unemployment, then go to Social Security and Medicare.

Sorry to hear. A company, a former client of mine, for whom I still do some gig work in the Winters to clean up the mess the Indians have made of things during the year, is laying off Americans left and right, despite keeping the Indian incompetents who are causing so much of the rework.

Trump needs to smell the coffee on this H1B scam.

And yet, except for a few DC restaurants, bars, and cat houses, I haven’t heard anyone complain of degraded government services.

They are downsizing, but then hit a snag, so they had to go out and hire 250 temps to do the work for now.

I tell people i only stick around to watch it burn. Been here 28 years and I honestly can’t figure out their gameplan.

Over the years the federal workforce has become deep blue and prided itself on harassing Republican administrations. By slow-walking, misdirecting, misinterpreting, losing documents and conversations they have been able to halt, change, or destroy countless rules, regulations and directives of Republicans

GOOD. 90% of bureaucrats are completely useless people and do NOTHING but cause trouble, headaches, and frustration for all Americans.

Federal workers have low morale? So what? Who cares? No one even noticed that the government was closed.

Navy Federal for one offered interest-free loans to tide over furloughed customers during the shutdown.
