Out of curiosity, I looked it up. The NYC police unions have endorsed candidates in the past. But they did not endorse any candidate in the 2025 mayoral race. They remained neutral.
Looks to me like they had a chance to make a difference, and passed.
The applications should have been in the pipeline all along. A mass exodus for effect.
What you wish for and what you get are two different things. Dollars to Donuts (no pun intended) that a great many NYPD officers vote dim: just like in Houston, Dallas, and Austin down here. Just because they are LEOs does not mean they are even right of center much less conservative.

It seems to me that NYC Police are in danger of being sacrificed on the Alter of suicided Career Criminal and Drug Dealer, George Floyd.
The best option is to be a Police Officer NOT in New York City.

I saw recently that in Burlington, VT they do not have enough city cops. That they are paying state police troopers to come in and walk a beat in town. That is because these DUMB A$$E$$ in Burlington VOTED to Defund to Police a few years back. Now, their college town has turned into a drug infested crime ridden cess pool.
HA HA !
They also brought in a bunch of Somoli immigrants. Who now control the local drug trade. The good thing they regularly kill each other for the control of that trade. Which makes the MURDER/violent crime rate go up in VT. Even though the remainder of the state in very rural. There are still more cows in VT than humans.
I am reminded of years ago when Ted Kennedy was rerunning for Senator.
A news man asked a voter who he was voting for and the voter said “Ted Kennedy!”
News man asks “Why?”
Voter has no reply and asks his wife “Why are we voting for Ted Kennedy?”
