200 yards to someone who owns and practices with a rifle made for long distance shooting is like fish in a barrel. My 7 mag is bone stock from cabellas it has to be for factory class competitions it has cheap $500 glass on it and will bust tennis balls at 400 meters first shot cold bore every time the trigger is 3.5lbs and the only thing allowed to be adjustable because the stock trigger is a marksman adjustable trigger. $750 out the view from a major sporting goods store I can hit 5 for 5 inside a paper plate with it at 500 and easily if you range find and calc the mildots hit 18” at 1000 with it. Boomers are usually veterans of some war so they can shoot with the best of them. My dad was a 0321 in Nam he liked the M14 never liked any of the AR15s I gave him during the summer of love a few years back.
with a decent rifle, with a good, dialed in scope and good ammo..
