A state trooper and several churchgoers have been seriously wounded in two shootouts during a gunman's rampage.
Panicked passengers ran for their lives as shots were fired at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky, about 11.40am, wounding the trooper.
The shooter then fled to nearby Richmond Road Baptist Church, where he was cornered by pursuing cops, Kentucky State Police said.
He was shot dead at the church and multiple parishioners were wounded by gunfire as they tried to escape. Whom they were shot by is still unclear.
The wounded deputy was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is in a stable condition, the Lexington Fire Department said.
'We were the first to the scene after the shooting, barely escaping a head-on crash from the shooter while he drove out of the airport the wrong way,' witness Gena Roland said.
'The trooper was thankfully awake and coherent when the ambulance arrived, albeit in a lot of pain.
'It was intense. There were many good samaritans that stopped and ran to the trooper. I think we had five of us down there before the cops and paramedics arrived on scene.'

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with how doors work.
Mine does (Roman Catholic). So does the Congregational Church at which I play the organ from time to time. (the hymns are better there)
Yeah. Our church uses hymnals. I also play organ there. It’s a PCA Presbyterian church, but we use a Baptist hymnal. They do have a rather stuffy Presbyterian hymnal but people think the Baptist has better hymns. We have no screens - YAY!
I love the four part harmonies notated in the Pilgrim Hymnl. Music in the RC has fallen so far from the ear of Palestrina. Now it’s all just a melody, and with no real meter - and not in a good, Gregorian way.
“I love the four part harmonies notated in the Pilgrim Hymnl.”
Really. My major in seminary was Church Music and we had to do a lot of Bach, four-part harmony, write our own, etc. It was great. Much to my husband’s chagrin, I collect hymnals, and have quite a stack.
One thing I learned over the years is that you can find all kinds of treasures in church piano benches and organ benches. Last month I found an Episcopal hymnal. Very stark music — Gregorian, but the lyrics were interesting.

Reported on X by Sarah Fields:
“The sh00ter had reportedly been identified as Guy E. House, a pro-Palestinian convert to Islam. He entered the Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, and K*lled two women, Two others were seriously wounded.”
Islam is a war plan
The motive is ISlam.
Say it.
Say it.
I am thankful for the security at my church (TX). Usually a sheriff’s deputy on site, but always an armed security team, backed up by an unofficial militia of 15-20 carrying members. I pity the fool who tries something here
So sad for the families, at least the mofo left “the house” when the LEO’S showed up.
Yes
Another prime example of the hussein/brandon legacy
Funny.
Unless there’s a remake of another horror movie, the people “currently dead” often stay permanently dead.
From Beyond the Grave (1974) had Peter Cushing and Diana Dors. The creepy woman a few seconds into the trailer looks like today’s Rosie O’Donnell. No offense to the ghoul.
