Getting laid off sucks, especially when you have other mouths to feed. I can empathize, having experienced it early in my career. For some reason the MSM never came around to interview me, and make my ex-employer look bad. Hmmm.

I lost every shred of sympathy for these government workers when they kept their jobs through the COVID fiasco while private companies were forced to shut down and lay off their own workers — on the orders of government hacks who never missed a paycheck.

Oh, please! Suck it up, buttercup. There are many millions of people who can't work in their "chosen field", for all sorts of reasons, and people who lost their jobs with no notice, and millions who live with the possibility of being out of a job every single day of their lives.
