Hezbollah Hit With Massive Attack As Communication Devices Explode Across Lebanon
RMV News ^ | RVM NEWS STAFF SEPTEMBER 17, 2024

On Tuesday, more than 1,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and medics, were injured across Lebanon after a series of explosions involving communication pagers used by Hezbollah, according to security sources.

The explosions, which occurred in various parts of the country, have been described as one of the largest security breaches Hezbollah has faced in the ongoing conflict with Israel. The detonations took place as Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the Gaza conflict erupted in October. Tensions have been steadily rising between the Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israeli forces, leading to ongoing clashes and casualties on both sides.

Apparently spyware that cycled the lithium ion battery in a manner to make it overheat and explode.

An iPhone battery has the stored energy of a grenade, for comparison.

These looked about like really hot M80s going off.

Lots of hands, faces, hips, and balls blown off.

One hell of a hit.

Good on Israel.

20 grams, nearly 3/4 of an ounce, is a lot to get into a small device. But the real trick is to have someone inside the manufacturing plant to insert the stuff, or to get access to the devices in transit.

Some theorize that is was not missed.
That they let it happen so as to have a reason to invade Gaza and take it over. Destroy Hamas.

The Oct 7th raid gave them the political cover to invade Gaza.

Not sure I believe it. Just saying that is what I have read.
Very Machiavellian thinking.

One small step for a nation, one giant leap for asymmetric warfare.

This is freaking genius. Mossad rocks.

I’ve been laughing all morning at this. It was brilliant. If you’re a well known terrorist group, you might want to think twice if your telecom provider is closed from sunset on Friday to Sunset on Saturday.

I wonder if these were alphanumeric pagers? If so, I’d love to know what the message said at the moment of detonation.

Hopefully those just injured in the blasts had their phones in their front pockets close to their gonads.

Especially since the pagers were made in Iran...

Nuke them from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

The X is saying they were manufactured in Iran. The exploding part must be a security safety feature but somebody sent the wrong code.

They were new, they just started using them recently because phones are too dangerous. The pagers were somehow set to overheat (probably at point of manufacture) so the batteries would explode. Some people felt the overheating and were able to get away from them before they blew. 2750 blew, 8 dead, many other critical according to Hezzies.

Oh, those sneaky Israelis. They went off at 3:30PM. I don’t know if that time has any significance to Israel.

Enquiring minds would like to know. Did they over heat them remotely some how? How did they get the list of numbers??

They had to buy the pagers somewhere. It appears Achmed was really Itzchak.

The guy who purchased them for Hezbollah didn't have great reading skills. He thought he ordered them from Achmed, but instead ordered them form Acme corporation.
