While Trump was frequently “fact checked” and cut off by Muir and Davis, Harris was allowed to lie freely without any pushback. The hosts refused to press her on past support for a ban on fracking, healthcare for illegal aliens and other far-left claims, and refused to fact check Harris when she falsely claimed that Trump called Neo-Nazis “very fine people” after the Charlottesville rally.
The false claim has been repeatedly debunked by major fact-checking outlets, though Harris was allowed to utter the false claim without pushback.

That’s encouraging. Trumpers don’t tend to watch CSPAN.
I’m not worried because I’ve seen too many campaigns and debates over the years to get worried
However, tomorrow should be a very entertaining day on Free Republic.
Why did Trump agree to this debate ?
The ABC producer of this ambush is her best buddy .
That is why Harris wanted just the ABC debate.
It was a well advertised ambush.
Trump is no great debater .
Trump needs to work on his get out the vote machine .
The leftist debate spin was a set up months ago.
Vote here now. Trump is winning

It certainly will. I expect to see more than a few posts saying Trump blew it and the election is lost.
Donald Trump
51.2% (22,861 votes)
Kamala Harris
43.72% (19,522 votes)
Introducing herself. They had never met in person.
After Kamala talked about talking to Zelensky just days before Russia invaded Ukraine, Trump shouldn’t have said that Kamala tried to negotiate with Putin. I don’t remember any time Kamala was sent to negotiate with Putin. So Trump made at least one mistake in the debate.
Trump’s closing argument against Kamala was spot on. Kamala keeps making promises but she didn’t do somethings like securing the border in 3.5 years. That to me is a winning argument. That is an argument that is understandable even for low IQ voters. Politicians can be voted out for failing to keep their promises for 2 or 4 years in office.
Thank you for voting!
Who won the debate?
Donald Trump
51.19% (22,949 votes)
Kamala Harris
43.73% (19,605 votes)
Neither, it was a tie
2.6% (1,167 votes)
I don’t know
2.48% (1,112 votes
Who caught them? Who will report this to the electorate at large who were watching? Answer: No one.
"ABC played into [Trump's] hands. The man thrives on being hanged up on. He loves the role of the trodden upon". Well said!
150 years ago, Ralph Waldo Emerson echoed your point:
A great man is always willing to be little. While he sits on the cushion of advantages, he goes to sleep. When he is pushed, tormented, defeated, he has a chance to learn something; he has been put on his wits, on his manhood; he has gained facts; learns his ignorance; is cured of the insanity of conceit; has got moderation and real skill.
The wise man throws himself on the side of his assailants. It is more his interest than it is theirs to find his weak point. The wound cicatrizes and falls off from him like a dead skin, and when they would triumph, lo! he has passed on invulnerable.
Blame is safer than praise. I hate to be defended in a newspaper. As long as all that is said is said against me, I feel a certain assurance of success. But as soon as honeyed words of praise are spoken for me, I feel as one that lies unprotected before his enemies.
In general, every evil to which we do not succumb is a benefactor."
“... and those facial expressions were just awful. “
I agree, and I haven’t seen as much discussion of that as I’d have expected. Clearly the facial expressions were rehearsed. They apparently had the idea that the Trump could be undermined with the public if she looked at him and affected a smug, self-satisfied look with the arched brows and chin-stroking. Of course, reaction was NOT “Oh, she looks a like an intelligent person bemused by the rantings of a crazy man,” but rather, “What a smart-ass little bitch.”
This "fact check" had to be planned because they called the city manager. They planned and rehearsed gotcha "fact checks" for Trump but not Kamala.TRUMP: We'll end up being Venezuela on steroids.
ABC GUY: I just want to clarify here, you bring up Springfield Ohio, and ABC News did reach out to the city manager there. Uh, he told us there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the Immigrant Community.
TRUMP: Well I've seen people on television --
ABC GUY: Let me just say here, this is
TRUMP: the people on television say my dog was taken and used for food. So maybe he said that, and maybe that's a good thing to say for a city manager --
ABC GUY: I'm not taking this from television,
TRUMP: -- but the people on television are saying --
ABC GUY: I'm taking it from the city manager.
TRUMP: -- their dog was eaten by the people that went there.
ABC GUY: Again, the Springfield City manager says there's no evidence of that. Vice president Harris,
TRUMP: We'll find out.
ABC GUY: I'll let you respond to the rest of what you've heard
KAMALA: [giggle] Talk about extreme [cackle] um, you know, I -- this is, I think, one of the reasons why in this election I actually have the endorsement of 200 Republicans . . .
Excellent rejoinder! Taking it to the meta-level!
Regards,
Harris told lie after lie, exaggeration after exaggeration, baloney upon baloney. I think there was an earpod under her hair—her right earring was not showing. She was definitely coached beforehand, and was insufferably smug. Would I trust this woman to act decisively during a national crisis? Heck NO. She would be utterly clueless. As would all the ill-informed dummies who would vote for her. It was all rather nauseating to subject myself to such crap.
Why is anyone surprised when they do this every time?
Her voice is her five o’clock shadow.
ABC spEWS
In a real debate, the moderator’s role would be similar to a shot clock in billiards or chess - mainly to enforce time limits as the participants take turns.
There would be no moderator or audience questions - as in chess, only the participants would decide how to use their time - each one posing challenges or responding to challenges as he sees fit.
As for scoring the winner - that would be entirely up to the audience - the voters.
Kamala sounded more like a Girl Scout leader trying to recruit new members than anyone serious about being President of the USA,
