CNN host Jim Acosta asked Monday on “Newsroom” if former President Donald Trump should be at Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath to mark the third anniversary of the attack on Abbey Gate.
Acosta said, “Former President Trump was at Arlington National Cemetery, where he marked the three-year anniversary of the bombing that killed 13 service members during the Afghanistan withdrawal. This is someone who, according to his own former chief of staff, said Americans who died in war are, ‘suckers’ and ‘losers.’ Trump denies that, although John Kelly confirms that Trump did say that. He more recently said a civilian award is, ‘better than the Medal of Honor.’ You’re a former Army Ranger. Is he politicizing these soldiers’ deaths? Should even be at Arlington National Cemetery if he’s going to make some politics out of this?”
Representative Jason Crow (D-CO) said, “Well, I also mourn the death of those 13 service members. Every death of a service member is a tragedy. At the same time, I mourn the deaths of the over 2,400 service members who died during the 20 years we were at war. And I just look at President Biden, under whose leadership we actually ended, and made the tough decision to end our nation’s longest war. It became very clear to me years ago that this war was not winnable through military means. Sitting here today, we are honoring the death of those who died in service to our country. And at the same time, we are not at war in Afghanistan. And that was the right decision by President Biden.”

I’ve had discussions with people who fervently cling to the idea that Trump didn’t sufficiently delineate between torch-carriers and “good people.” They deny the proof that the transcript shows and they deny the proof of the audio.

NEVER is correct. Sarah Huckabee Sanders was with 45 all day and unequivocally said he never said that.
Added to that, they said 45 chickened out from take Marine One to the cemetery. I’m sure that the Secret Service was advised by the Air Traffic Controllers of Marine One that the ceiling was too low and dangerous to fly.
Then, 45 said he would motorcade but the French Government and their security officials could not guarantee 45’s safety.
I’m disappointed in General Kelley in his proffering hearsay.

I recall something about Obama having studied a technique and I know the CIA used certain techniques to “convince” people of BS. I also know the KGB had predicted that certain techniques would work to “fundamentally transform” America and fool Americans.... via ideological subversion and/or mind control techniques.

As we saw, the families of the slaughtered soldiers were livid that both Harris and Biden NEVER ONCE said their names publicly. Never.

My father earned the Navy Cross in WWII for his valor on D Day. When I was a child, it was explained to me that this award was second only to the Congressional Medal of Honor. But my siblings assured me that we should be glad he didn’t get one of those, because he’d probably have died on the battlefield and we kids would not have been born.
Of all the transgressions leveled against Trump, “suckers and losers” is the most fantastical, the most “you’ve gotta be kidding me” of them all. It’s nonsense, right up there with him trying to commandeering the presidential limousine.
