The two Boeing Starliner astronauts who have been stranded in space for 80 days will stay in space for another six months, NASA officials announced Saturday.
Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are now expected to return to Earth in February, while the Starliner will be brought back unmanned.
Veteran astronauts Wilmore and Williams launched aboard Boeing’s Starliner back on June 5 — the maiden crewed voyage for the spacecraft — for what was supposed to be an eight-day mission docked to the International Space Station.
The test flight, however, encountered thruster failures and helium leaks so serious that NASA kept the capsule parked as engineers tried to find a solution.
Saturday’s announcement came on the pair’s 80th day in space.
The decision to bring the astronauts home in February was the result of a “commitment to safety,” Nelson explained.

This is the scariest part—it appears Boeing is getting dumber than it was before....

How much food do they have on board?
With the US government harassing Musk and his companies, I would refuse to bail them out.
If they want to be Cancelled, Censored, and have their families Doxxed.
If they want their Workers’ Comp they can’t. On the other hand, if they incur a gravity-related injury, like burning up while reentering the atmosphere, they may get labor Law strict liability compensation. But if they just stay in space ‘til they go stir crazy and kill one another, that would still be workers’ comp, but killing one another would be a malicious act for which the victims’ estates can sue the last man standing. If they get osteoporosis for not having gravity to contend with and stay fit, that depends on the judge.

55 years ago, we landed men on the moon 238,900 miles away and had the ability for them to walk on the moon and then return home soon after...
Now we can’t even get people back from a “space station” that is
254 miles above earth.....
The rescue will be just in time to celebrate the 1st birthday of their son - the first birthed in space.
He’s busy building a space wrecker to bring that Boeing POS back home.
Then could try Uber or Lyft.
Once this Space Team makes it back to earth, I would think,none of them will wish to be on any future Space Teams

They have researched it. Problem is that their space suits aren’t compatible with the space x vehicle.
They look like they are having the time of their lives. They will remember every moment and bore the grandkids with the stories. I'd trade places in an instant.
This is like many classic science fiction stories.
It is all joy and light for the first few months and then they start to get on each others nerves....
