Israel is extremely wealthy. Its supporters always tout Israel's amazingly successful tech and medical industries. But all that's forgotten whenever Israel wants yet another handout.
The Israeli welfare state also provides free health care and college education for its citizens.
Israel can easily afford to pay for its weapons. It might have to divert some money from its generous domestic programs. It might have to raise taxes on its industries and billionaires (of which there are a few).
But why raises taxes on Israelis, when they can instead shift the costs to American taxpayers?
The biden administration already did that with what they abandoned in Afghanistan.
