Ah, but that whole line of thinking IS racist. That is, in my opinion, wrong. I remember in my youth dealing with racist dad, I made clear that if I ever brought a woman home for him to meet, she'd be black, Mexican, Chinese, or something other than white just to spite his racist BS. Over the years, when I was singled I probably checked off ever race box for women I dated, it wasn't a concern by itself.
I agree it is racist, some folk just work that way.
My mother in law threatened my husband with disowning if he married a black girl.
He told me this years later- I’m white, but I told him I would have tried my best to fake it had I known.
