Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle noted in a July 15 interview with ABC News that police were in the building from the top of which the would-be assassin fired at Donald Trump.
Cheatle told ABC News that the building on which the would-be assassin took his position was supposed to be secured by local law enforcement officers who were working with Secret Service for perimeter control.
ABC News reported “local authorities were tasked with securing the building where the alleged shooter fired the shots before being taken out by a Secret Service sniper.”
Cheatle also indicated that police were inside the building from which the would-be assassin fired at Donald Trump.
She said:
In this particular instance, we did share support for that particular site and that the Secret Service was responsible for the inner perimeter. And then we sought assistance from our local counterparts for the outer perimeter. There was local police in that building — there was local police in the area that were responsible for the outer perimeter of the building.

None of those folks have the talent and experience necessary to be a “player” in an assassination plot imho.
The CIA and/or FBI probably had moles at lower levels of the organization in charge of on site assassination planning and execution.

Like the four ft tall, 90 lbs soaking wet, female assigned to block bullets from hitting Trump and be able to carry him away from danger or the four ft tall, 180 lb rotund female officer who couldn’t even holster her side arm. I guess the doughnut around her waist kept her from finding it.

If there’s any visual obstruction in the perimeter, you adjust. Furthermore, there’s this technology called drones. They are rather inexpensive,adaptable and useful. Obviously the police and Secret Service were
on different communication channels. Even throwing flash bang or firing warning shots would have warned security at the podium to get Trump out. As a threat was roaming around, why wasn’t the rally paused or canceled until all clear? Critical thinkers ask questions, government points fingers and is inherently inept.
She thinks snipers walk around in slippers, on heavy carpeting, drinking brandy and smoking cigars.
Roscoe P. Coltrane and Barney Fife could have done a better job providing security.
Those were men, she didn't want the women going on that roof because the slope is too steep for women.
