Russia repeatedly bombed itself, intelligence report finds
The Telegraph ^ | 1st July 2024

Russia dropped dozens of its glide bombs on its own territory between April 2023 to April 2024, an intercepted internal document found.

At least 38 of the munitions fell on the Belgorod region close to Ukraine, according to The Washington Post, which cited bomb cleanup and evacuation documents obtained by Ukrainian intelligence.

The majority of bombs, largely undetonated, were found by civilians in areas surrounding the city. Four bombs have hit the city of Belgorod itself.

The first recorded accidental bomb drop fell on a central street in Belgorod in April 2023, creating a 65ft crater, shattering windows and blowing up parked cars. The detonation happened at night and no casualties were reported.

Moscow has been making extensive use of glide bombs in recent months, increasingly relying on them to batter Ukrainian cities and drive territorial advances.

..Glide bombs are Soviet-era heavy munitions retrofitted with guidance systems and launched from an aircraft flying out of range of air defences with a payload of up to 1.5 tonnes.

Actually the quality of life has been like Venezuela under Chavez.

Putin had an uptick in profits from oil. But what were his achievements during the 20 years of his dictatorship?

He organized a group of his cronies who privatized the wealth that supposed to belong to the whole country. If it was his plan (it probably was) then he succeded in it.

He understood that there could be people in the country who would not like his and his cronies behaviour. So he took measures to bribe or intimidate or kill that people. He succeeded with this too.

So his successes are only related to the actions aimed at personal enrichment and enrichment of his cronies.

Putin spent a lot of money for subversive work in other countries. Traditionally the russian state used to harm the West. In this regard, putin turned out to be the most persistent and purposeful.

Has he tried to change the structure of the Russian economy in order to reduce dependence on the sale of hydrocarbons?

He has not.

On the contrary, he developed only this extraction, eliminating free business.

When a lot of people in russia still do not have a modern amenities like running water, gas, canalization and so on - it is a shame for the leader.

He has made the Russian federation open to be cut up by a resurgent China

Let's look at what you, wildcard_red said: "Russia was the Soviet Union and the Soviet Union was Russia "

Estonia was part of the USSR. Ergo you want Estonia to be ruled by the Kremlin, right?

Enough of you. You have a head like a brick and the personality of a psychotic leftist. Go dye your hair blue and put on your pink pussy hat if you haven’t already. So tired of idiotic neocon hair splitting to justify mass murder.

Oh, so caught in your own inanity where you claimed that “Russia was the Soviet Union and the Soviet Union was Russia “

That very clearly means that you want Estonia to be ruled by the Kremlin, right? As Estonia was part of the USSR.

Mass murder of white Christians is being done by Putin as part of his 2022 invasion. Why do you support him in that?

Actually the quality of life has been like Venezuela under Chavez.

That is utterly absurd. There are Russian and Western expat vloggers that post videos daily from Russia that completely refute your claim.

What's amazing is that you think you post this garbage in the age of social media and have anyone that has done any research believe it.

Just the opposite is true. Corrupt oligarchs, like the ones in Ukraine who are working with the Western elite to rape the people of Ukraine, were reigned in by Putin once he got into office.

The result was a dramatic increase the quality of life of the average Russian.

Russia, despite all the sanctions, is now the fourth largest economy in the world and considered one of the world's wealthy countries.

The Russian economy has overtaken Japan to become the fourth largest in the world in PPP terms (purchase power parity), according to revised data from the World Bank released at the start of June.

Despite Western sanctions over the Ukraine war, Russia has transitioned from an upper-middle to a high-income economy, according to the World Bank's latest rankings. Factors such as increased military activity, a rebound in trade and construction, and growth in the financial sector contributed to this shift.
