“MILAN — Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the country's forces are leaning heavily on Chinese DJI drones in the defense of their country, a claim that the manufacturer has since declared was news to them.Oct 23, 2023”
Countering CCP Drones Act
“prevent future purchases of DJI products”
“revoking existing authorizations for DJI drones” possible
Drones for First Responders Act
“50% tariff” on Chinese drones
For an honest discussion we should at least mention the security concerns that have been raised concerning DJI...
I view any ChiCom made product, including my own cell phone, as being a potential tool to gather intelligence for the ChiComs.
And I include damn near anything made over there the same way. It is who they are. And we better get on board with that soon as a nation.
General Robert Spalding, USAF (Ret.) former B-2 Pilot who learned Mandarin in a year, and while on active duty, went to China in the early 2000’s to get a business degree. He did it at the behest of the USAF, openly, as a commissioned officer, so he knows of what he speaks.
He was the cyber specialist to the JCS, was a member of the NSC, and got canned from his job for making such a public stink about allowing the ChiComs to build our 5G networks (and those of our allies) that he was fired.
I have no doubt how he views this kind of thing, and I would concur.
The article reprsents an example of why I am a Conservative and not a American Libertarian. American Libertarians ignore the real world and think a single country like ours can do everything in a “Libertarian” sense, which only means all the nations which are not Libertarian (99%) get our advantages here while we get none there.
That's delusional. IF you're a business INSIDE China, you're controlled by the CCP.
“Libertarian”
Yeah right.
