Benny Gantz, a key member of Israel’s war cabinet, who is seen as a moderating presence, resigned from the government on Sunday, citing Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza.
Concerned with the open-ended conflict and the lack of success in retrieving those captured by Hamas, Gantz had, for weeks, been threatening to resign.
He had set a deadline of Saturday for Netanyahu to address key issues, including the return of four hostages. After Israeli authorities announced the rescue of the hostages, Gantz postponed his planned news conference, choosing instead to wait a day before publicly resigning.
In a televised address, Gantz emphasized that a “real victory” should involve prioritizing the return of hostages rather than political survival. He further outlined his vision for combining military success with a diplomatic initiative to replace Hamas with an alternative government. Gantz and Netanyahu notably disagreed on the future of Gaza’s governance, with Gantz advocating for an administrative body supported by Arab and Western countries, including the United States. Though Gantz’s exit will give Netanyahu’s coalition a narrower majority, there do not appear to be any further defections that would imperil Israel’s government.
While critical of Netanyahu, Gantz praised Israel’s defense minister Yoav Gallant, urging him to “say the right thing but to do what is right” and act as a check on Netanyahu’s power and decision-making.
Netanyahu responded by urging Gantz to stay, citing the existential nature of Israel’s war on multiple fronts, saying: “Israel is in an existential war on several fronts. Benny, this is not the time to abandon the campaign — this is the time to unite forces. My door will remain open to any Zionist party willing to shoulder the gurney and help bringing about victory over our enemies and ensuring our citizens’ safety.”

Another quisling who doesn’t want to do what’s necessary for Israel’s survival. Good riddance.
And he resigned when they actually rescued hostages.
I figure he was a phony and subversive from the start. Like our Assistant Democrats in congress.
In other words, Benny does not want to eliminate the Terrorists!
He’s one of the Judicial Reform protester idiots who CAUSED Oct 7. The year of mutinies and protests were the distraction that allowed the sneak attack.
Good riddance.
[Benny Gantz]
So, he’s Zionist for his father’s sake but not religious? (according to his father) from durka-durka-pedia
LOL, freeing the four hostages was just tooo much for him i guess...
Obviously, politics are to blame.
But Bibi is the captain of the ship. He has to ignore all of that BS to keep his people safe. His enemy only needs to win one time. Israel can never lose a war.
If you didn’t watch this C. Glick vid you should. She does a great job of pointing out all the players keeping Israel from victory. Short on time? Start somewhere around time code 23

Good riddance..... since you suck at leading, get the hell out of the way.
It's all about The Benjamin, hating him, that is.
A battlefield desertion. Shameless.
Israeli leftists hate Bibi’s guts. Every one of them I run into is full of bile for him.
Israel’s Benny Gantz Quits War Cabinet, Upsetting Israel’s Power Balance: Cites Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza, failure to surrender to Hamas.
He’s a whiner instead of a doer....
The Intelligence and many military formations were in open mutiny and basically on strike. They are to blame.
Good points there. Zelensky declared martial law in Ukraine.
We all know what Pinochet did in Chile.
Bibi was facing extraordinary times. Declare martial law to make the country "safe" for democracy.
