Six people miraculously managed to survive a plane crash on Saturday afternoon after the pilot parachuted out of the aircraft near Butler Memorial Airport in Bates County, Missouri.
The plane, a single-engine Cessna C206, crashed in a hay field close to the airport, outside of Kansas City, just before 1pm on Saturday.
The Bates County Sheriff’s Office said the aircraft was found just east of the runway.
The pilot had been wearing a parachute and was able to jump from the plane before the crash. He was found at a hangar at the airport.
The other six passengers were all treated and released at the scene...

Im sure there is - and I want to hear it!
This is very strange. Either staged, or one of the passengers knew how to fly the plane, or both.
I would see that as a bad sign to board an airplane and notice the pilot has a parachute on.
I looked at the crash picture and they were all looked at/treated on the scene and then released.
I’ll be waiting for a more thorough article for this one.
Didn’t thins happen in an Indiana Jones movie?
Someone had to land the plane. It didn’t just land itself.
7 people in a 206 seems to be pushing the limit pretty hard.
Daily Mail contributors send in stories.
I saw way back they were asking for contributors
Someone was praying really hard!
Especially since it only has six seats.
“or one of the passengers knew how to fly the plane”
Then why did it crash?
“Someone had to land the plane. It didn’t just land itself.”
crash
[kraSH]
verb
(of a vehicle) collide violently with an obstacle or another vehicle:
“the stolen car she was riding in crashed into a tree”
Note to self...do not fly on an airplane if the pilot is wearing a parachute.
It’s every man for hiself.... later chumps, as he exited the plane.
In some circles, it’s not uncommon for all the passengers to have a parachute, but not the pilot.
The reverse does seem odd.
Yeah, more bad/yellow “journalism” from the Daily Mail....skydiving plane...everyone jumps out (w/parachutes) them pilot bails out after a major mechanical issue.
Then why did it crash?
They knew how to fly, just not very well. I blame microsoft flight simulator.

Not when spec’d out for skydiving.
