The Supreme Court is NOT a representative body...it doesn’t exist to reflect the values of Americans. The court exists to protect and defend the values of the Constitution, which are the basic values of Americans. In fact, the court is supposed to be a bulwark against a passionate majority, such that Constitutional principles do not change at a whim.
