John Dean, former President Nixon’s White House counsel, said in an interview Saturday that the New York hush money criminal trial against former President Trump is “very powerful” ahead of highly anticipated testimony this week from Trump’s ex-fixer Michael Cohen.
Dean said in a CNN interview that he has read the transcripts from the trial and thinks the prosecution has laid out a compelling case that can stand alone, independent from Cohen’s testimony.
“It’s a very powerful case the government has put on in New York,” he said. “They have really filled in so many of the blanks, and they have built such a structure that Michael Cohen can come in and testify.”
“And he’s largely corroborated already, with either other witnesses … who don’t necessarily have an axe to grind, as well as documents,” Dean continued. “So they have laid a real foundation for this coming week.”

If Nixon deserved to run out of office, it should have been for hiring people like Dean. What a jerk.
Not only is John Dean irrelevant but so is The Hill.
He was probably more responsible for Watergate than anyone and it had to do with him wanting to get his hands on a little black book that had Maureen’s name in it as a Call Girl for the Democrats. Read the book Silent Coup:The Removal of a President. Dean is total scum and always has been.
I am confused.
Trump, using his own funds, paid off people to keep quiet.
Somehow that is illegal. Not sure how you get there with that, it’s a CONSIDERATION, and it’s completely legal.
He didn’t use campaign funds. He paid via his lawyer, so it was included in his legal fees.
Contrast that to the tens of thousands of Democrats and CONGRESS that have funds that do the same thing. Why isn’t Bragg going after them? Why did Bragg withhold evidence from the defense? Is it illegal for a Democrat to have an affair (Trump was a democrat at the time of these events) or is it that he paid considerations that make it illegal?
The Hill may as well be Media Matters.
Most first year law students could have provided a better legal analysis than this moron.
So how is he being paid. Obviously he is a whore because there is NO case.
John Dean: A pusillanimous and inveterate liar since 1970.
Cohen is the modern day Dean.
Judecca: the fourth division of Cocytus, of the Ninth Circle of Hell, contains the Traitors to their Lords and benefactors. Judecca is completely silent: all of the sinners are fully encapsulated in ice, distorted and twisted in every conceivable position. The sinners present an image of utter immobility.
Means the exact opposite of anything Dean says. The truth is not in him.

Remember the old phrase “know your enemy”
Another “Immortal”
Don’t these fools ever die?
Oh, well... If John Dean says so!
Correct.
No, John, it's a very powerful case against the government in New York.
Dean is wrong on the law, wrong on the politics, and wrong because he married a hooker for a wife.
His wife was a hooker.
His name is ‘John’.
Do the math.
Trump hasn’t been tried for paying hush money.
The interview is worth watching.
