In the US when names aren’t given of arrestees in heinous crimes the suspect is usually black, sometimes Moslem. In England Moslem arrestees are not named so as to prevent the public from thinking that Moslems might be dangerous.

It's standard British police practice not to name any arrested suspect for any crime until he's been formally charged and appeared in court. It's not a matter of choice related to the characteristics of a particular individual: it's universal.
