As President Joe Biden visited Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, he called for an increase in taxes on the rich.
“When I look at the economy, I don’t look at it through the eyes of Mar-a-Lago,” Biden said during his speech. “I look at it through the eyes of Scranton.”
Biden explained that he wanted to make the tax code fair, in order to allow regular American citizens to keep more money in their pockets.
In an attempt to make the tax code fairer, Biden suggested a 25% minimum tax rate for billionaires, while slamming former President Donald Trump for being a billionaire.

Maybe he should start by paying his own taxes on his 10% cut.
Notice the timing- after tax day, and before the next tax day, and before election. Their thinking is that the wealthy won’t be affected by increased taxes before the next election, so they will still vote dem.
He left at six years old!!!! I’m sick of hearing it’s his hometown. Media covers for him on all his crap.
The capital gains tax is 20% plus 3.8 for obamacare on unearned income. So it’s 23.8 percent. Very close to 25 percent already so WTF is he talking about. Unless he wants to tax unrealized capital gains. Someone should ask Biden about this, it would be fun to hear him try to say the word “unrealized”.
But the people who for the Party of Government and the Rich have most of their money and assets overseas where the tax increases will not affect.
Just like the media let Clinton call himself “the man from Hope” although he grew up in Hot Springs.
You’re being pretty insensitive to a guy who lost his uncle in the Revolutionary War after General Abraham Lincoln ordered him to travel by train across the Francis Scott Key bridge to Washington, DC, where he tasked him to do a recon flight over New Guinea where he was shot down by cannibals who served him for lunch to the children attending the Cornpop Summer Swim festival.
I know, right? Some people just don’t have any sympathy for the misfortunes of others lol
Tax all wealthy (net worth $10 million or so) Federal elective officeholders at 98% of annual income derived from salary for position held.
Seems fair to me.
lol. I am a horrible person with zero empathy.
Oh yeah. Ugh.
Every tax increase for “the rich” ends up falling squarely on the middle class. Every time.
After the elite’s reaction to Covid, hell yes. Tax the hell out of these bastards.
So he slammed “Poor Don” for being a billionaire? Way to stick to the narrative pervert!
Trudeau just did that in Canada
But isn’t the top rate already 39.6%?
EC
Most people dont realize when they sell their home they are “rich” to these pieces of trash.
Straight from the Marxist playbook.
