Governor Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) said Friday on ABC’s “The View” that women in her state will die because of the reinstated abortion ban from 1864.
Hobbs said, “This is absolutely outrageous, and, you know, we can talk about how crazy it is that a law passed in 1864 by 27 men now controls the lives of millions of Arizona women, but I want to talk about the effect that’s going to have on women in our state.”
She added, “I, myself, have personally experienced a miscarriage, losing a pregnancy by miscarriage and the treatment for that is a procedure that is also an abortion, and that is a common treatment and how outrageous is it that if you have this terrible thing happen, that doctors can’t treat you because they’ll be criminalized for it now?”

She’s going all hyperbole to goad murdering women (and men) to get to the polls on Election Day.
Katie Hobbs promises to veto any and all restrictions on abortion, otherwise , she could fix this problem right away by compromising with Republican lawmakers and accept some restrictions on abortion.
It is not called an abortion after a miscarriage. It is a D & C, if not all the baby or placenta did not come out. That is a medical procedure.
Remind the gubner that 7 white dudes said it was ok to murder and unborn girl.
And infants are going to DIE!!!! without the ban. What’s it gonna be Hoggy!? I think I know. Infants don’t vote, right?
“It is not called an abortion after a miscarriage. It is a D & C, if not all the baby or placenta did not come out. That is a medical procedure.”
She is right in that if a woman is denied a D&C after a miscarriage and any tissue remains then yes septic shock is virtually assured and the woman will die.
She is wrong that a D&C is an abortion given that the fetus has already ceased to be viable.
The question is does this law prevent or limit doctor’s in AZ from recommending and performing a D&C on a woman who had or is having a miscarriage.
There was a case in Texas where the law is so strict the doctors didn’t want to risk a 20 year jail sentence for doing a D&C on a unviable fetus so they made the woman wait until she would hemorrhage and then and only then go in and clean out the products. This woman said F that risk to her life and future fertility remember this woman was trying to have a child and Texas law screwed her over. She ended up going to Kansas or New Mexico I forget to have the fetus removed so she could try again. This is where poorly written laws that were passed in knee jerk style. Texas needs to set in writing parameters to have a quick effect D&C not leave it up to some judges interpretation.
Either Hobbs is outright lying-or she is dumber than dirt if she does not know that having a miscarriage that happens naturally for whatever reason-a fall, illness, fetal death, etc-and the medical procedure done afterward to make sure there are no complications like infection-is not an “abortion” by any definition-it is a miscarriage followed by a D&C-what a dumbasss...
I wonder how many babies will die.
I’ve had 4 miscarriages. They were all 7-8 weeks along and I never sought treatment. IMO most miscarriages are early in the first trimester. It’s all moot though because abortion is totally different than a D&C for a miscarriage and will not be prosecuted as such. Katie “Robbs” is just a lying POS.
God bless you
Why would Kari Lake give up a career she could do in her sleep, and for a hefty paycheck no less, to run for office? Can you illustrate how much she’s gained by doing so? You must have proof in order to make such a disgusting accusation, so why not share it?
What could be higher prestige and attract more respect than The View?
Way too many FUTURE ‘Women of Arizona’ are gonna die, Bish! What about your future Constituents? What don’t you understand about THAT Reality?
These people at GHOULS!
A lot less females and males will be murdered.
I thought that...she is typical liar...plus miscarriage is not a “choice” is it?
Please provide online reference/info for the incident you are referring to-the only recent legal dust up over abortion I recall in this state involved a woman who was told by one doc that her wanted baby had a disability that would probably cause it to be stillborn, or die shortly thereafter-but there are also cases of kids born with that disability living for a year and more. The woman did not want to give birth to a disabled baby, or one that would not live long, so she wanted an abortion-she was too far along to get one in Texas, and her life was in no danger, so she went to another state and had her abortion instead. If that is the incident you are referring to-the woman got what she wanted-a dead unborn disabled baby-by taking a short trip out of state. Her life was not endangered at any time...
Her objective was to always challenge the AZ Gubernatorial results but when that hit a dead end, she immediately hitched to the MAGA train and ran for Senate. She's an opportunist.
Can you illustrate how much she’s gained by doing so?
Sure, I can reference your 1st point that she can easily earn a hefty paycheck in her sleep in the media, but she decided to take a long-shot at a Senate seat. She's after power.
You must have proof in order to make such a disgusting accusation, so why not share it?
What do you mean? If I was robbed of a Governor seat, I wouuld move Heavan and Earth to reclaim it. I certainly wouldn't just drop it and run for another seat, no...I legitimately won this seat and I'm gonna fight for it.
She's not a fighter kid....just another one in a long line of MAGA folks that will fleece the base out of campaign donations to set themselves up comfortably.

Not exactly. Arizona did not become a State until 1912. Then the good people of Arizona chose to continue the Territorial laws in force as State laws, as shown by the constitution they adopted.
Arizona State Constitution of 1912
Article 22, Section 2.
All laws of the Territory of Arizona now in force, not repugnant to this Constitution, shall remain in force as laws of the State of Arizona until they expire by their own limitations or are altered or repealed by law; Provided, that wherever the word Territory, meaning the Territory of Arizona, appears in said laws, the word State shall be substituted.

It is as outrageous as a Federal Constitution written by men, adopted by men in 1788, controling the lives of men and women throughout the United States in 2024.
I wonder if any the disaffected ever thought of amending the law or moving to California.
Fascinating that she has a problem with “we can talk about how crazy it is that a law passed in 1864 by 27 men now controls the lives of millions of Arizona women” when our entire country is controlled by and she swore to uphold and protect a bunch of laws passed 250 years ago in 1776! I thought states rights was part of all that!
Did she talk in her little girl voice?
