Some metro Atlanta residents are looking for their mail, but there’s one big problem — it’s either late or, worse, not showing up at all.
These postal customers are also complaining that their packages can’t be traced at all. They said these issues are centered around one postal facility in Palmetto — which is located mostly in Fulton County [Another government debacle in Fulton County!] but also partly in Coweta County.
From paychecks and legal documents to mail of all types, customers from Lithia Springs, Kennesaw, Marietta, and other cities reached out to 11Alive about their mail being delayed, but there still aren’t any answers as to why.
Welcome to 3rd world systems...where delivery people do not bother.

EXCERPT:
Weeks, and dozens of news stories, later (Atlanta-area FOX and ABC affiliates have also reported on this problem), little has changed.
A March 21 11Alive news story gave a comprehensive update on “What we know so far about the Palmetto USPS mail delays.” The story begins, “11Alive has received non-stop overwhelming concerns from those experiencing delays about their missing mail over the past couple of weeks.” On “why is the mail delayed,” 11Alive reports that they have “reached out to the United States Postal Service about what is causing the delays,” but 11Alive “has not received a definitive reason.”
Ruby Freeman is now working in the post office?
I do not live near Atlanta but in a very rural area. I constantly get messages from Amazon and other vendors saying the USPS could not access my driveway to deliver my package. Well I drove out of it and back down it today so what was the problem? When I do get packages about half the time it looks like someone tore the packaging and looked inside. Took a friend to one of the rural Post Offices to get a money order and the guy behind the counter said Oh I don’t work here just filling in for a friend. Took him to the next one and there was a note on the door saying “I am at home call me if you need something important” and no one was there.
Probably goes without saying, but certain demographics are over-represented in government jobs, and that probably goes double in states like Georgia where that demographic constitutes a larger percentage of the population.
And that demographic has a reputation for misappropriating things that aren’t theirs...
The “consolidation process” mentioned by Congressman Clyde (and by several others dealing with this matter) is evidently part of USPS’s 10-year plan, introduced in 2021, called “Delivering for America.” The Palmetto facility, which opened on February 24 of this year, consolidated Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, and Duluth–area processing and distribution centers.
Our Founding Fathers were very intent in giving powers to State and local. To have competition. You still have corruption, but it is distributed and more manageable.
When the centralized power of the Soviet Union went kaput the power was distributed back to the eager satellite countries. AND NOBODY WANT TO PUT THE CENTRALIZED POWER BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.
What will happen to our centralized corrupt govt?
I just shipped an antique toy I sold on ebay. It was supposed to get to the buyer on a Saturday. Did not get there til the following Thursday. I usually ship UPS because of the percentage of thievery through USPS.
Gypsies Tramps and thieves.....That’s not just a song by Cher, that’s the USPS...................
USPS was long ago turned into a jobs program for the 13%.
Gubment operated and DEI staffed.
No different that our healthcare system nowadays.
“A new (and sometimes even used!) quality bat or glove alone can easily cost several hundred dollars.”
WUT!?
It’s no better in parts of Texas.. About 10-12 packages in the last three months. Post Office lost two of them.
Sometimes USPS will bring a package to my house if it won’t fit in the mailbox.
No more uniformed personnel with a mail truck.
Delivery vehicle can be anything from a junk KIA to a Mercedes. Sometimes there are a few people in the car. Packages everywhere. Driver gets out of the car wearing nasty sweatpants, tank top and a pair of sandals.
If you were not aware of this new delivery protocol, you’d think it was going to be a robbery.
Government workers with no accountability.
I tell vendors to ship my purchases via UPS.
If only USPS is available, I cancel the purchase.
It took two weeks for a letter sent by my employer 10 miles away to reach me. Here, mail is sent by the local distribution center 100 miles north to St. Louis and then back to the same distribution center to then go to the city post office which gives it to the local carrier for delivery.
This usually eats up two or three days, but in the case of my letter, for some reason it sat in St. Louis for 10 days.
My guess is that the mail was swiped. Maybe even by the employees at the facility. Fulton county is one of the scummiest places on earth.
Maybe the postal workers don’t have enough time for their jobs because they are ramping up for mail in/absentee ballot fraud for the 2024 election
THIS!!!!
Shipped a package from AL to SC...six hours away...using usps priority mail w/ tracking. 11 days later tracking still shows it at the sending post office. Went to the sending office & the clerk told me it wasn’t there (couldn’t be bothered to get off her stool to check!) & it was probably stuck in the black hole of atl. Filed a lost package complaint & actually had the SC receiving post office call to tell me it wasn’t there. Our tax dollars at work...NOT!!!!
Since she came down here by plane I told her I would mail the bat to her home. I took it to the post office, got the postage and had it insured for collector's value and with tracking. Of course, the tracking stopped right after it left the Tampa sorting center. the Postmaster said, sorry, it looks like it got lost. Then they were unwilling to reimburse me for the value because I didn't have a receipt from the Rays..
The session I learned that day was that if I had anything of value to send, do not send by USPS. If that was my only option, do not insure it because the Postal Pirates only steal things of value if they are insured. I'm sure if it is not insured, they are not interested.
Yeah, just wait until election time. Talk about screw ups. This is why mail in voting should not be allowed.
