An honest question. How can an illegal alien pay taxes (other than sales tax) if they don’t have a work permit or valid documentation? Has every employer been wasting time and money using the DHS E-Verify program since Aug 2007?

They pay parole taxes (FICA) which are withheld from their pay checks. Most never file returns so the IRS and Treasury love it and keep it.
The only reason employers even take out the FICA is because they need a verifiable record to write off their labor costs.
