Friendly fire incidents happen all the time. For the dead, which barrel the bullet came out of is moot.
If staying alive is high on your priorities, stay out of war zones. If helping people (or as is more likely the case here, helping a side) is more important than your life, have at it.
But everything the media is saying about this incident is just crocodile tears anyway.
Has everyone forgotten kunduz afg hospital massacre. usa ac130 orbited around hospital with doctors without frontiers inside and over extended period hosed it down killing 42 medical personnel and wounding 30. They circled using their thermal sights , cannons and mini-guns to target anything with thermal signature.
