Navy Demoted Ronny Jackson After Probe Into White House Behavior
Washington Post ^ | March 7, 2024 | Dan Diamond and Alex Horton

Trump’s former physician and GOP ally is now a retired captain, not an admiral

Ronny Jackson, the former White House physician turned GOP congressman, regularly touts his military bona fides.

“As a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral with nearly three decades of military service I understand the commitment and sacrifices made by servicemen and servicewomen to serve our country,” the two-term representative from Texas says on his congressional website in a message posted to a page listing his work on veterans issues.

But Jackson is no longer a retired admiral. The Navy demoted him in July 2022 following a damaging Pentagon inspector general’s report that substantiated allegations about his inappropriate behavior as a White House physician, a previously unreported decision confirmed by a current defense official and a former U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive personnel move.

Jackson is now a retired Navy captain, those people said — a demotion that carries a significant financial burden in addition to the social stigma of stripped rank in military circles.

Despite the demotion, Jackson has continued to refer to himself as a retired rear admiral, including in statements released since the Navy reclassified him as a retired captain. Former president Donald Trump and other Republicans have also continued to publicly describe Jackson using his former rank; it’s unclear if they were aware of his demotion.

“his crime?”

He didn’t support removing Trump via the 25th Amendment.

They did not have to "remove" many federal executives who were Republicans.

By the 1970s, it was impossible to get promoted in the federal bureaucracy (and many state bureaucracies) if you were not a card carrying Leftist.

There are douchebags on this very thread who would take an account of the Washington Post as the God’s honest truth.

Says a lot about those a-holes.

I will take my cue from Dan Bongino who KNEW the man, and Bongino says he was a stand up guy and the victim of attacks for political purposes.

"Among the most damaging allegations: Jackson was drunk and “wrecked a government vehicle” while at a going-away party. It also says that “on at least one occasion” Jackson “could not be reached when needed because he was passed out drunk in his hotel room.”

The documents did not include further significant details, the document states, in part to “protect the identities of those involved.”

It was an attack of Personal Politics, something the Left excels at.

It WAS. Like I said-my default position on the Media (especially The Washington Post) today is to view every single thing they say as an outright lie, unless there is irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

And the smear, led by the likes of Jon Tester only highlights the wisdom of that viewpoint.

According to Wikipedia, the Leftist of Leftist sources, “Senator Jon Tester told CNN on April 24 that Jackson was known as “the candy man” at the White House, according to around 20 people who brought these concerns to the Veterans’ Affairs Senate Committee, because he allegedly handed out Ambien, Provigil, and other prescription drugs “like they were candy”.

Dan Bongino, who knows about these kinds of things firsthand said that the use of those drugs on personnel who must go overseas is de rigeur and criticism of it is total horsecrap.

And all the other “accusations” were anonymous.

Total hit job by the Left.

If Trump gets back in he can promote him to whatever rank he wants.

I absolutely HATE that “unnamed sources” crap. I hate it in my local politics (where there are way too many whispering campaigns with vague sources), and I especially hate it from the “press” — who, if they had any integrity, would INVESTIGATE it rather than just passing it on as a smear. But of course they’re not really journalists, they’re propagandists.

As someone else said, it was ostensibly to “protect” people from retaliation.

My ass.

And, to think, there are actually FReepers who support this ⬆️

The investigation was conducted by the Trump administration, but don't let the facts get in the way of your knee jerk response. Trump then withdrew Jackson's nomination to be VA sec'y.

There is a lot of info out there if you want to read about it while Trump was in the White House.

Interesting that it took two years for people to realize that Jackson was demoted. Shame on him for not acknowledging it. At what point did he start lying? Or parsing the definition of is so-to-speak.

This is an integrity issue, Jacksons on the wrong side of it.

His sole crime was declaring President Trump as having fine health when the idiots in DC were pushing the Trump dementia theory.

I'll never forget that. Those evil jackals of "the press" were angry and in disbelief that Dr. Jackson declared President Trump perfectly healthy - both physically and mentally. They did NOT want to hear that.

Shame On YOU ....

The demotion was not made public until a Thursday report in The Washington Post based on anonymous sources but which the Navy later confirmed to The Post.

So, there ... twisted panties. Always so quick to hump, er, jump in, with the leftist media.

Yes, but Jackson knew for two years. He lied for two years.

I don't necessarily have a beef with Jackson or not, don't really care about him. Could care less about his politics. But I think his integrity is suspect and his history is increasingly suspect. He was a political officer as much as anything, we see that, did he think he was entitled? I was enlisted Navy myself, so I'll admit ready to question Navy officers. That's a view from 70s era Navy that might be unique.

Doesn’t need to be a crime. The grade determination is “at what rank he admirably served. Col (now 1Lt Ret, USAF) Mike Murphy can tell you all about it.

Don’t bother. That turd jumps on on every anti-Trump thing possible, and this has its roots in anti-Trump machinations and NOTHING else.

Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool, a tool, and likely, both.
