Republican Alabama Sen. Katie Britt pulled no punches as she delivered her party's rebuttal to President Biden's State of the Union address Thursday night, ripping him for his "despicable" job handling the border crisis, as well as his promotion of "Bidenomics" amid the rising consumer costs plaguing American families.
A rising star within the GOP, the 42-year-old Britt's selection to deliver the rebuttal last week was met with widespread praise — even from some Democrats — as she continues to build a national profile despite never holding elected office prior to her election in the 2022 midterms.
Britt began her remarks with a reference to Biden's age and his decades as a career politician, blasting his speech as "the performance of a permanent politician who has actually been in office for longer than I've been alive."
"The country we know and love seems to be slipping away, and it feels like the next generation will have fewer opportunities – and less freedoms – than we did. I worry my own children may not even get a shot at living their American Dreams," Britt said.
"The American Dream has turned into a nightmare for so many families. The true, unvarnished State of our Union begins and ends with this: Our families are hurting. Our country can do better," she said.
Britt then sought to pick apart Biden's policies, starting with the ongoing crisis at the southern border that's seen a historic number of migrants cross into the U.S. She specifically called out his diversion from former President Donald Trump's border policies.
"President Biden inherited the most secure border of all-time. But minutes after taking office, he suspended all deportations, halted construction of the border wall, and announced a plan to give amnesty to millions...

She is our junior Senator from Alabama!! The most Christian and Conservative state in this Republic. Ole Miss and we routinely jump back and forth on these two issues in polls. But second to another southern state doesn’t bother me. I just stick with what Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd said, “there’s good people in Alabama.” 75% of us are. The rest are illegals who snuck in and dimo voting commies in our big cities. But, we ignore them.
We dodged the VP bullet.
I don’t know if you saw the hilarious Roger Stone comment—something to the effect of thanking her for doing us a favor—eliminating herself as a possible VP candidate.
lol
Roger Stone has a wonderful dark sense of humor.
Oooh ... that’s GOOD!!
Love Roger Stone. I had missed that comment, of his.
Thx!!
Reading the many posts here, I saw a lot of comments about her being a mom, soccer mom, woman, sweet, cute, etc. One of the MAJOR issues our side has is women voting for the dims over the RINOs (I exclude Donald here of course). If she can bring more women to our side, the better. She is our junior senator from Alabama. She won through the primaries, tho I did not vote for her in those. But, in the general election, she was our side’s nominee to run against Jones coming back again. Thus, I had to vote for her to get and keep that seat republican. How she will eventually do, I don’t know. I hope Trump wins and at least she can see how the country NEEDS to be run instead of how it has been since she went up to Sodom on the Sound. Anyway, if someone bother’s her, that wall she calls a husband will squash them like a Junebug.
The New Testament of the Bible is a good place to start where in many epistles, women are told it is God's will for them to care for the home and be in subjection to the man, all as a result of subjection to the Lord.
Much damage has happened because of society's turning form trusting in the Lord.
Obviously she is a lot better than the slimy Democrats.
The problem is she is a lot worse than many of us would like—and if we want to get and hold political power we must get better—that means brutal honesty about our strengths and weaknesses.
And here I was thinking of retiring to Helotes,Texas....looks like I should consider Alabama.
Is Birmingham a good place to live?
“The New Testament of the Bible is a good place to start where in many epistles, women are told it is God’s will for them to care for the home and be in subjection to the man, all as a result of subjection to the Lord.”
Careful now, you don’t want to quote the politically incorrect parts of the Bible around here.
It couldn’t be clearer that God wants women out of public life, but the Republican party and all these loathsome “Christian influencers” keep spitting on God’s word while pretending to follow it.
We all know what will happen to these people.
Some FReepers won't accept less than perfection in a politician.
Read the article—the Republican professionals thought she was awful:

Boy, I’LL SAY.
What a mess.
