A United States Air Force fighter pilot training to be a Top Gun has been crowned Miss America.
Madison Marsh, 22, who comes from Fort Smith, Arkansas, won the top award at a ceremony in Orlando, Florida on Sunday night.
Second Lt Marsh was crowned Miss Colorado in May 2023 before competing in the finals to scoop the top award. Marsh is the first active duty officer from any branch of the military to represent at the national level of the Miss America organization.
This year's runner-up is Miss Texas, Ellie Breaux who would be called to step in if Marsh is unable to complete a full year of service.
Miss Indiana Cydney Bridges came third, Miss Kentucky Mallory Hudson placed fourth while Miss Rhode Island Caroline Parente came fifth.
Fifty-one contestants participated in the event, representing all 50 US states, as well as the District of Columbia.

“What? They crowned a n actual woman?”
Could be, but with another hairstyle she’d look more like a guy, so who knows.
But even if a tranny, at least they’re smart enough to shove that detail in our faces.
Not a soldier. Who writes these headlines.
Amazing it’s an actual woman though.
I didn’t realize that she was charged with a crime.
An Air Force Pilot is not a soldier.
But even if a tranny, at least they’re smart enough to shove that detail in our faces.
Now you are giving them too much credit. 🤣
well just damn.. lookie what we have as AF pilots
OCS is generally where enlisted soldiers/airmen/marines/seamen go to become “mustang” (prior enlisted) officers. The service academies and ROTC training at the universities are the more traditional path.
lol- yeah, i wouldn’t be grabbing like that with what’s out there today- uggh-
