This is the 21st Century form of bribery, since cash handouts aren’t nearly as useful as in the past (ever try to buy a car, a house, pay rent, even buy a plasma, etc. with real cash? if you do, the IRS will know about it).

So the deal, now, is that the payoff is AFTER you do what Big Pharma wants - approve the lethal drug, you get the cushy job upon ‘retirement’...as we see here and in many other cases.

The thing is, this is FAR EASIER to stop than the ‘piles of cash’ technique as one simply implements a LIFETIME BAN on regulators working for companies in the industry they regulated. If a Republican would propose something this simple, they may not get many DC votes (LOL, like they ever wound), but they sure as hell will get a lot of votes from the other 99% of the country.

I suspect that a large number of Republicans are in on the scam too. They may campaign on stopping it but when it comes time to vote, they will not. Just like the Obamacare repeal scam they playes on us for multiple election cycles.

It's not just the pharmaceutical industry, either.

Nikki Haley went from the governor's mansion in South Carolina to the Boeing Corp. board of directors -- and has never stopped being a shill for military/defense contractors at every step of her career.

“If a Republican would propose something this simple...”

*************

They should, but they won’t. Too much money sloshing around to stop it, unfortunately.
