Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has spoken out about his adopted Black son, Michael ... "When Speaker Johnson first ran for Congress in 2016, he and his wife, Kelly, spoke to their son Michael—who they took in as newlyweds when Michael was 14 years old," said Corinne Day, communications director for Johnson. ... Johnson's office explained in its statement that it is Michael's choice not to appear in campaign material. The speaker also discussed Michael and his other son, Jack, during his interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity on Thursday, and whether Michael had a harder time growing up. "It's a reality, though, having raised two 14-year-old boys in America and in the state of Louisiana—they had different experiences," Johnson said. ... Johnson told Isaacson: "We took him in as our own and Michael is now doing great. This is now 20 years later. He's in his mid-30s. He lives in California—four children of his own," adding that Michael had "a great family life." ... In a video clip of the interview shared on the platform by PatriotTakes, Johnson said: "And I've thought often through all these ordeals over the last couple of weeks about the difference in the experiences between my two 14-year-old sons, Michael being a Black American and Jack being white Caucasian." ...
"They have different challenges," Johnson added. "My son Jack has an easier path. He just does. The interesting thing about both of these kids, Michael and Jack, is they're both handsome, articulate, really talented kids, gifted by God to do lots of things.
"But the reality is, and no one can tell me otherwise, my son Michael had a harder time than my son Jack is going to have simply because of the color of his skin. ...

Many on the left will think he’s somehow evil for adopting a black child as his own, and many on the right will think he’s a fool for believing his black child might still have a harder time than his white child.
But a man who speaks what he believes to be the truth even when many from both his friends and enemies will object, well, at least that is a man with a backbone.
Sorry, but I believe who has the tougher time has flipped. Tired of acting like it’s 50 years ago.
” and no one can tell me otherwise, my son Michael had a harder time than my son Jack is going to have simply because of the color of his skin”
He is also waffling on Uke money op. It looked a lot better 2 days ago. That little scumbag Adam Kinzinger was praising Johnson before the vote. Not a good sign at all.
I wish he would tell us more details. How did the black son have a harder time? In what ways? Did he get discriminated against somehow, by some people?
It sounds like both sons are doing well, because he and his wife raised them with great values and personal responsibility.
“It was never easy for me, I was born a rich, white child.”
I hate this automatic adoption of the narratives of the left. It’s like the GOP intentionally handcuffs itself at every turn. How about simply saying both kids are productive and valuable members of society, and leave it at that.
I know a black guy who was adopted by a white family that lives in Minneapolis - at that time a very white area. He said being black was tough for him but he’s a good guy. Saw him a couple of weeks ago after a long time - he’s having trouble getting a job and had various stories of problems driving while black. Awful to hear because he is a really fine guy - he’s just like anyone but he has darker skin.
Somebody will find something wrong with this and anything else the man does or has done any time in his life; past, present or future. They will do all they can to destroy him and he knows it of course. I hope his kids are up to it all. He seems to be ready for it and I wish him well. It will probably be much worse than he ever imagined.
The liberals and the media are already in meltdown mode over him. Yes there will be great pressures on his family.
Is Karl Rove behind this?
The more they hate him the better I like him.
When I walk into the bank 🏦 they just give me money.
I don’t even have to pay it back.
"What a silly negro!"
He admitted that Michael had a rough 14 years before they adopted him, certainly a contributing factor.
Wow…entirely different from the stories I hear from my buddy.
He happens to be black. He was adopted by a white family that adopted him after a missionary trip to Haiti. He was 3 when they brought him home.
He was raised in a predominantly white community. He never really got along with the Black kids in school. He said they were ghetto, even though they lived in the same upper middle class community he did.
He did well in high school, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Scholarship offers poured in. He went on a full ride to Georgia Tech. I believe his BA is in Electrical Engineering.
He has never has trouble getting a job. Never felt that he was treated as less because of his color. He has felt some resentment from coworkers who assumed he was an affirmative action hire, but he works hard and wins them over.
He has been pulled over, but has never had a bad experience with an officer.
It is his opinion that if you look for racism, you will create it.
Amen.
Mike’s going to need to learn to say less. Anything he says can and will be used against him.
